2014-2015 lpn program c-net lpn entrance exam
I took my test on the 11th too. I finished all the questions on time.... Thank God. They said the reason the results are gonna take longer to be mailed out is because they're taking more students this year. I hope I get in. I'm not doing a damn thing now and NY job market is getting on my damn nerves

You will get the syllabus on the 'interview'. Girl please you don't have to beat yourself up for the interview. It's not that serious. You will be sitting in the directors small cramped office where he's gonna explain the schools status and what types of students they desire. You will also be asked questions about yourself and why you want to become an LPN. He will also tell you about the cost of the program (about 15K). If you want to hold your seat the expect you to pay $500 then and $1000 by orienation. I wrote all this stuff already some where on this thread so go back and read. There's the payment plan too. But don't beat yourself up it's not that serious. .

New LPN students to start soon !! Come share your experiences :)
I start Sept 23 @ Lincoln Tech in Paramus New Jersey. I don't what to expect. I'm scared and excited at the same time. I'll be going full time 8:45-3:45 M-F for a year. I'll be there with my sister. She has a medical education backround so she'll be fine. But me who hate science and learning medical terminology is gonna have a problem. I'm gonna keep a mini journal as I go to let you guys know how it's going. GOOD LUCK TO EVERYONE. WE'RE GONNA MAKE SOME GREAT LPN AND HOPEFULLY EVEN BETTER RN'S

Well I was pregnant then. And after that I went to Job Corps for about a year. When I was 18 I went for computer network training. After that I went to a 2 year college for paralegal studies. Around that time I was 21. I went to a community college to see if I can get into thier LPN program but didn't get in. I just missed the the minimum GPA. 2 years later I'm here..Going to Lincoln Tech. I'm sure there's gonna be cattiness and all that hot mess. But at least I didn't get that from the Director. Him and his secretary barely spoke English I mean come on. On top of that I don't want to be paying as I go even though I have the money. I would pick LT over Merit anyday. Out the 22K I have to pay 15K in loans so I'm fine. I saved 7K. That I will start paying $300 a month as I go so I can clear it out before I graduate Nursing School.

Merit is straight BS in my book. They are in it for the money. I actually called them out. The director actually was afraid to let me sign up since I shot so many questions at him that he couldn't answer. Or when I corrected him on the BS he was tryna tell me. The don't even have financial aid. ***?? I went in there with a little attitude because I didn't like how when I first came to take the test they ask for the $40 and my ID and didn't even say HI. How rude. The school cost about 15K that you have to pay $500 to hold your spot... 1K by orientation and about 1K a month afterr that for 6 months. The rest you can take a loan out (Not sallie mae or Chase) but their own private loan company. Ha yea right. If I'm not mistaken you have to pay the balance of the loan before you can graduate. Oh...books and uniform is not included in the fee. LOL..those people are ridiculous. I actually had a smirk on my face the whole time he was talking to me. He gave me a BS story about how they don't tolerated ghetto people or people who are roudy and act as if they grew up in th projects.... So they whole time the smirk is on his face. Well I let that bum know that I grew up in a middle class neighborhood, never been arrested or anything an I've been to school for info tech, networking, paralegal studies and graduated HS at 16. And I work at 1199SEIU (Which he didn't know is the union that represents healthcare workers) so I know what I'm talking about. Mind you I was 24 years old at the time. He was straight up sweating bullets. His mouth was all dry. He actually said That maybe this wasn't the school for me. Oh and I actually went there with 15K cash (pic on my social site page) to show him that paying for this school wasn't a problem. His eyes lit up when he saw all that cash. Hahaha. Well right now I'm just waiting to start Lincoln Tech in Paramus, NJ where I will be going for my LPN... Wish my luck people.

anyone attending lincoln tech in new jersey?
I will be starting next month along with my sister.I really don't know what to expect. They say that you will have 3-5hrs of homework at night. Is that true? I will be taking public trans to and from school ( 2hrs each way) of I pretty much wont have a life. I'm hoping to use the time on the train to study. I'm excited and scared at the same time. I don't know what to do with myself.

Oh man. The tuition is 13000. They don't offer financial aid. There is a $500 registration fee. You are expected to pay $1500 by the day of orientation. You pay for your classes@out of pocket for about five months totaling $4500 . Then u pay about $200 a month. There will be a balance of $6000 dollars that you Can pay off on your own or take out a loan but u must pay it off before to can take the exam. Books and uniform is not included in the tuition. I think that sucks. They are very money hungry.

New Grad jobs in NYC?
I found that talking to people who work in the hospital doing non medical work are more helpful. The opposite thing stuff works for me. Cause If U are cute the are going to want you to work there. Everyone know that being attractive is a plus I don't care where you work. So lets not get retarded here.

Which is better? 1199 or NYSNA
I work at 1199 and I can tell you they do too damn much for their member. The support you in damn near everything. The have a child care fund which helps with child care from birth to 17. The have training and employment funds and everything in between. The bargain hard for their members.

New Grad jobs in NYC?
Hi I think its best you find the HR Personnel and send them ur resume directly along with a cover letter. Alot of people fill out job applications online but you need to make sure yours is mailed directed to the right person not just the department. Also go to the hospital and talk to the security guard or anyone in housekeeping. preferably one of your opposite sex.

Help.. LaGuardia Community College
I'm not talking about taking easy NUR classes. I'm talking about social science classes. I understand that people lives will be in my hands. The reason I'm looking for easy teachers because I know from experience teachers who don't care how good you do in their class and fail you just because the don't like you personally. I don't want to get a low grade and jack up my chances of being considered. I just need to get into the program. Passing classes is nothing for me ( i once took 7 classes at one time and didn't get anything lower then a B+).

Help.. LaGuardia Community College
Hi Everyone.. I will be attending Laguardia in the fall 07 semester. I want to know about their LPN and Nursing Program. I need one class for the LPN and 2 classes for the LPN since I'm coming in as a transfer student. I am beyond scared because I don't know if I have a shot. And ZI also feel too old to be be doing this. (I'm 23). My GPA is around 3.5 and I made it my duty to pick professors that are easy to pass in the classes I will be taking.
