  1. Congratulations!
  2. Mine shut down at 85 as well and I passed!!!!! I'm sure you have done the same.......CONGRATULATIONS!! I have faith that u nailed it!
  3. I work LTC as well. In my facility, If a resident has chest pain we are instructed to immediately call the doctor after getting vitals and a description of pain from the resident. If the doctor does not call back (I work graveyard) then we send the resident out. As far as giving meds for vomiting or anything else, i absolutely don't do so unless there is an order. Some docs get ticked when u call them in the middle of the night, but they soon get over it.
  4. congratulations!!!!
  5. Here in Louisiana, we are not allowed to do IVP or hang blood products. At one facility i worked at we were not allowed to even give IV meds.
  6. I've noticed that in the area where i live the nursing home census is going down. Greatly in part of the Home Health services provided by different agencies. A nurse can come by and visit with a patient once a week and let the doctors know what's going on with that patient, and then they have CNAs that come out everyday and help with ADLs and run errands therefore making it easily for the elderly to stay home and not be admitted into a nursing home facility.
  7. Run Forest, Run!!!! I would be out of there in a heartbeat.....
  8. I agree with you....if the facility wants everyone to wear certain uniform colors, then they should provide a clothing allowance of some kind. The facility I work for, we don't have to wear certain colors, even tho I perfer to wear white and pastels because to me, it looks more professional.
  9. things are pretty much the same where i work....the night shift gets along with the evening shift, but we always bump heads with the morning shift...they are loud, rude and obnoxious! this is no lie, it's like they are angry about having to come to work or something....this is not how all of them act, but the majority of them do....and they always try and find something to blame on the night shift....the evening shift seems to be neutral.
