In North Carolina the UNC system has only approved a handful of online programs for the residents to attend that require clinicals. Indiana state is not one of them. I appreciate the recommendation. Well trust me I wouldn't be exclusively choosing this route if I had many more options. The in state schools are super competitive and they are only 2 that offer online the rest are a combination or face to face. I've applied and didn't get in. I have a family and face to face isn't an option when I would still have to commute 2 hrs away. So although many folks frown upon the online "for profit" schools they open a door for those who have been told no. Or are nontraditional students. And yes you do have to find your own preceptors but I don't forsee an issue since I know many providers personally in the community. Which in some in state schools make you find your own as well.

I have the same issue in my state...NC...but no approved list of program found. I am pursuing FNP...

I am a NC resident and was just informed by my state that they are restricting NC residents from applying to out of state schools that require in state clinicals. This restriction is insane and limits nurses to NC school that have limited seats in their programs. I am devastated!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the NCLEX on the 19th and I got 118 questions, all of my friends from school were getting 75 questions and passing so when I got this off number of questions I was very disappointed and discouraged. I just knew I probaly failed but I still tried to keep the faith. I prayed and prayed over it, and yestereday found outh that I passed. If I can do it anyone can, you GOT to have FAITH!

1. how many questions did you take on nclex? 118 2. what study materials did you use? did you take a test review course? i took the online nsbn online review, kaplan startegy book, delmar complete nclex review and ati. 3. did your son offer any testing (eri, ati, hesi)? ati 4. how long did you wait for results of the test, or are you still waiting? i am in nc it took 2 days 5. what were your thoughts coming out of the test (total disbelief, certainty you had failed, confident you had passed)? i was numb and really dazed out it took me almost 4 hours because when i say i took my time, i took my time! i was 50/50 sure confident. i really had a lot of people praying for me including myself. 6. was this your first attempt at nclex? fortunately, it was my first and last time!!!
