Your undergrad gpa and lack of experience are two huge barriers that will prevent you from getting into a program. Perhaps you have done more research than you led on in your first post. However, not trying to sound rude/discouraging at all, but I am guessing you are at least 2 yrs at the minimum of being ready to apply to a program, considering you don't even have ICU experience yet. Also, a year ICU and 3.0 will not get you into a school unless your father is the program director. While your already in those settings, I would get the credentials you can for those floors. Start looking into retaking classes. Also, do you mind me asking why you want to be a CRNA?

Hey, I live right downtown on 10th st and work at KU. I went to school in Philly and my family is about an hour west of philly. My time here in KC has been great, but I can't frikin wait to get back to the east coast I know quite a few people in the program now, and some who just graduated. All have said not being able to take the classes before the start of the program is fine, and doesn't add to much stress or workload to the curriculum.

I'm going to be coming from Kansas City. I've only lived here 2 years though, I'm originally from the Philly area. PM me if you want to exchange emails and stuff.

Looks like we'll be classmates I'm from Kansas City so I won't be able to take any classes in the spring, and I'm about 99% positive none are offered online. PM me if you can, where are you from?

Actually, your information isn't correct. I interviewed in October and they told me in the interview they will send you a letter in 2-3 weeks whether you've been accepted, denied, or on the waitlist. Other people who I know received the school's decision in 2-3 weeks like they said. However, when I interviewed they called me the next morning to offer me a spot in the program. Since you're interviewing later it might be different for you.

I declined the interview at MHRI because I had already found out from another school I was accepted.

Did anyone hear from Scranton? I got the call on Monday from the program director telling me I have been accepted. Has anyone else on hear heard?!?!?!?!? I hope I hear back from some classmates :)

I got a call yesterday at about 3:00ish to set up an interview. They did leave a message first just asking to "call them back." Then when I called back they wanted to set up an interview. So, I think that's a very good thing. I didn't set up an interview though because I've already been accepted to another program.

I've heard interviews are BRUTAL there. One girl I know said she sat down and they handed her a swan kit and said "tell me what you know about swans and tell me how you're going to insert this." Another guy said he sat down and they said "tell us what you know about the heart." and gave him no direction to go with. Neither of them got in, but a girl I know who got in said they asked her to tell them everything she knew about 3 vasoactive gtts, and some other challenging clinical questions, basically until she didn't know an answer. Yikes! I hope I'm not scaring you, but multiple people have told me it's a pretty rough interview.

I interviewed there in October. That's why I was asking if you were interviewing there this year yet, because I thought the last interview dates were in October. Do you have one scheduled for November sometime yet? The group I interviewed with was also under the impression there were no more interview dates?

Have you received an notification of an interview from them? I called the school yesterday to see when we'd receive notification and the secretary said they were reviewing apps this week, and no one has been notified yet??? I sent my application in quite a while ago.

I wore a full suit head to toe, button up white blouse shirt. Got the whole thing like 60% off from Brooks Brothers. I felt great. The other girl at my group interview had on dress pants, a nice jacket (but not suit jacket if you know what I mean) and just a normal shirt underneath. To be honest, I thought she looked kind of sloppy. So I would def. go with a suit. Unless your in a ballroom gown, I don't think there's a chance of overdressing.
