All new LPN students
I also will not be able to sleep. I can't wait to get all our books, etc. I wish we could of had them previous to classes starting. We will be reading 6 chapters from one of our books it looks like so far for homework. I do not know how people can work with the fact there is so much studying to do. I also don't know how to manage NOT working! See you tomorrow!

Porter and Chester
Hi. I didn't get this message earlier. I haven't had time to check the site. They told me you can bridge. When you do you might have to do core english and algebra. I am not positive how it all works. I believe you get some credit for going through the lpn program.

I highly doubt you can become an RN in less than 2 years, unless you have a degree already that covers prereqs.to even allow you to be accepted into a college program. I would of loved to be able to do the state program, but getting in is difficult if you need to start as soon as possible. At P&C, you can bridge. As iwillbanurse08 said " it works for some".

Hi Lucky to be a nurse.Congratulaions! When do you graduate? I am signed to start in Jan.09. I can't wait! Please keep in touch re: the program. Do you have a day off every week? Also, I heard you have to study 4-5 hrs. a night. Is that about right? To the other posts.I am on a time constraint, so I decided to go to P&C because it is 15 months long, unlike other avenues. The Watertown school seems nice and it is $30k. I don't know why you were told $36k.

Thanks so much for responding. Time does fly and I am so happy for you. I am so excited to meet with P&C. They told me to call in July for the Jan. 09 class. Can you tell me more about the hours and when clinicals start. Can you give me more details about the program? I don't mean to bombard you, but i just am anxious to learn more about it. I HOPE I pass their admissions . Thank you so much.

Advice about getting LPN in CT, PLEASE!!
I ended up scheduling my NET. The state program changed their pre-requisites, so I didn't have time to get them in before the application deadline! I can't believe it! So many people had no idea and couldn't apply either. Now I am planning on checking out Porter and Chester. Any info. on them would be appreciated.

WE need more CT nurses or student to sign in. Where are you guys??
I don't think people know about this site. I stumbled upon it trying to learn about the various LPN programs in Ct. Initially, I got responses. I have had a question re: the state LPN program. Nothing. I would like to find out more about it from someone who has been or is in the program.

Question about the NET
Has anyone gone thru the state LPN program? I just wanted input about it because I will be focusing my efforts on being excepted to the one at Kaynor. The web site doesn't give much info. All help appreciated!

Question about the NET
I would be so happy to start at P & C, but I don't think financial aide amounts to much. I would have to afford day care and other bills! I did get the basic outline info. If I went to talk with them, I would want to sign up. That's how I felt when I checked out med. assisting. It is inspiring to see their set-up. I didn't feel that way about Stone. I didn't think they had a L.P.N. program then or I would have looked into that . Once again it is the cost factor. Keep me informed on your schooling. It may come down to going there if I don't get in to Kaynor. Congratulations to you and for getting in earlier than you expected!!!! Thanks for your help. I am so happy I came upon this site.

Advice about getting LPN in CT, PLEASE!!
Thanks so much. I have read all day, all the messages from this site. I have heard alot about not going to Lincoln, but not much re: Porter and Chester. I suppose it could be similar. I liked it much better than Stone when I was looking to do medical assisting. I have decided to study and test for the state tech.schools. As much as I would love to start sooner than later;I just can not afford the private schools! I have waited this long to attempt nursing, so I can wait a little longer. I am going to call about the program and test now.

Question about the NET
It is my first day on this site. I have an interest in attending a LPN school, but do not know what direction to go. Tech. schools are so much cheaper! I heard there is a waiting list and there is only one session at a time. Is Porter and Chester is very expensive? That would be the school I would focus on going to. Please tell me any info. you can about the school. I wonder if I could study and test in time for the Oct. class. I wish I could work part-time too.Thank you for any help.

Advice about getting LPN in CT, PLEASE!!
Hi. I am in the exact same situation. I don't know which is the best school. I don't want to drive too far. Private is very expensive but probably easier to get into. It's been a very long time since high school so i am scared of a college route. I think the state program is the best for me but I read on this site that there is a long waiting list if you even get accepted. It's a long wait for the next class! Ididn't see Goodwin or Prince. Where did you find schools? What did you hear about Lincoln? I am inquiring at Porter and Chester now. Does anyone have info. on them? Thanks for any help. I need to move ahead at this point in my life.
