Opinion.....taking physiology before anatomy, but had anatomy 15 years ago, am I nuts
It's doable. You may need to work alittle harder to understand things, but if you review the anatomy for the section of physiology you're on, you'll do fine. In fact you might even be a step ahead in your anatomy class. Think postive and you'll have positive results

Those of you on a waiting list...
I had to apply to the school, pay the $35 ( I think that's what the fee was I can't rememeber haha) application fee, take all of my prereqs, apply online for the program, fill out a form with my grades and when I completed my prereqs, and I am still waiting on my waitlist number. Things are kind of unorganized with the waitlist at the moment. It's been a big mess, but they're working on getting it straightened out (hopefully soon). So, I am on the waitlist I just don't know what # I am.

Am I alone? Please tell me I am not!
At my CC you have to have all the prereqs complete before you can get on the waitlist. The waitlist is 3-4 years long. It's like that at most places here in CO. :angryfire To get into the larger universities there are more prereqs and it's a lot more money. Those usualyl have about 30 spots and are extremely competitive. You're not alone

Any students out there dating veteran RNs?
Hello Misterniftypants, I am not a guy nor a seasoned nurse, however I thought I would drop my two cents for you :-) From a woman's point of view (scary huh?) I can understand why you would feel like you do when the subject of work comes up, but don't think of it as "student and season nurse." To me you have an advantage. You have a great study partner and someone who you can lean on for the subjects you're having a hard time with. Use the "work" aspect of your relationship to get to know each other more. That is a great opportunity for you to get to know her more, as well as her to you. You'll be able to learn her stengths and weaknesses. You'll learn more about your relationship, her and yourself if you don't look at it as a student and an experienced nurse. When the situations come up where you feel like you have to sit aside and just listen to her talk about work related issues that you don't have the experience in.... smile and nod that's what I do. haha... no, seriously, think of it as an additional learning experience. Ask questions when you don't know something... that will keep the conversation going and she'll know you're interested.

Will I ever be able to get a nursing job?
Have you tried a Holistic Dr? I know it's not the "norm" but I know of several people who have seen holistic doctors and they've all had great results.

TB Skin Test
Well... MD called... chest xray is normal (I had no doubts about that), however he wants me to see an infectious disease MD so they can decide if I should be on the INH (antibiotic) or not. He said that with my age group... I fall into the gray area. Some say over 10mm or over 15mm (ppd) and since mine is 13mm he wants a second opinoin. He acted like I am the first postive test he's seen.... hmmm.... I just have a feeling they'll want me to do the INH, but 9 months.... I can't bare the thought :uhoh21:

TB Skin Test
My TB Skin Test came back postive. Now what? Dr. sent me to get a chest x-ray... waiting on results. I've never been exposed (to my knowledge) to TB.... I've been reading about postive skin tests... do I really need to take 9 months of antibiotics? I can't stand 2 weeks... 9 months AHH! Any advice, thoughts? Thanks!

What to do while waiting to get accepted? Giant waste of time?
Take more classes. A little more education never hurt anyone. I know what it's like, our waitlists here in Colorado are horrible (3 years) and I have thought the same thing as you. However, I realized that I have always wanted to learn spanish and being on the waitlist is the perfect opportunity for me to take on those spanish classes. Not to mention it will help me out as a nurse as well.

What have you dissected????
A fetal pig... Lucy is what we call her, and Bob our Cadaver. Then we had the fresh cow heart (looked like on big juicy steak:lol2:)....and the sheep brain and sheep heart.
