  4. Good luck and God bless miks103! Just remain positive, i know this road is not easy but it will be worth it.. Please do update us with your journey in Oz if you have time. I can't wait for my turn this July. Hope you wont mind if I will pm you sometime. Have a safe flight mate!
  5. hi nosrat25! are u in qld now? have you heard any news about the proposed bridging program in qld? i'm really hoping that it will be pushed through this year.
  6. Finally decided to take the bp in Burwood, NSW not in April but July intake. Sending my application form tomorrow:) My hopes at Qld's proposed bp has faded, after receiving an email stating "There are not currently any bridging courses available in Queensland. It is up to the educational institutions to decide what courses they offer. AHPRA is responsible for approving those courses that meet the standards set for registration purposes" So I chose a diffrent route instead, before my eligibility letter expires. Time is precious. Good luck to me:)
  7. got the letter from aphra yesterday finally after 7 months.. now the hunt for bridging course begins :) did i mention before that i applied thru aphra qld? and that it was a huge dilemma for me considering that there is no bp yet in qld, the good news is, it is anticipated that a bridging course will be available early this year..it makes me even happier! just a prefect b-day gift for me, hehe.. yeah today's my bday! have a great day everyone..
  8. it is pretty daunting.. we all hope for finding a job as soon as completing the bp. did they tell her some reasons why she's not hired?
  9. Thanks for your reply faveispink, actually the reason why i opted for qld is my relatives are there so in terms of accomodation etc, it could save me heaps. I wonder why qld does not offer this kind of program Yeah your right i might as well take your advice (i have thought of that as well) if there's no other choice. Have you done yours?
  10. i'm having a bit of a dilemma here, there is no bp available in queensland! it seems the only way is to contact the relevant institutions providing these courses, to make arrangements to complete any theory via distance education / online. I have searced through their websites but they dont offer it externally. Now i'm running out of options:( help anyone..
  11. uhmm.. can't seem to find bp in queensland.. any idea?
  12. i do have some relatives there, and ive been there a few times. i thought there is parity between each state in terms of wages. that would be a great idea ryan working interstate at the same time exploring australia! i havent been to victoria yet, i've seen sydney though.. it was such a long trip from brisbane coz we drove all the way there! i think it was 14 hours the most (including short pit stops) but it was a blast! very unforgettable experience. i love it! yeah i do hope to get a job there and stay there for good with my relatives .. still waiting for my final assessment, just submitted my additional docs last week.
  13. thanks ryan, i already applied through aphra in qld, it's my preferred state so i'm hoping to get into a program/bridging course after the assessment. However I do not have a clue if they are offering etea there. Guess i'l just have to wait for the outcome.
  14. hi ryan09, do you know any of this kind of program in queensland? mostly are applying in victoria..
  15. it doesnt really matter if they did not mention what stage as long as you have been notified that you need to comply the lacking docs coz surely it has been assessed. I was told that after submitting I'l be on the final stage of assessment. Let's wait and see.
  16. hi shermaineRN, yes its my first letter from aphra no breakdown of payment was included. it was just a letter saying they did an initial assessment and in order for them to proceed to the final assessment i have to procure the misssing document. by the way, did you receive yours?
  17. just received a letter from aphra today after more than 3 months of waiting :) initial assessment was done! however i need to comply just one more document which it should have been there if not for my dementia kicking hehehe.. good luck to everyone! just be patient:)
  18. hi coffeedreamgirl, what's up? did you already applied through APHRA? I did submit my application last july but no reply yet. By the way, when enrolling in UQ for the overseas nurses program, do they need a letter from APHRA stating that you have been assessed or you can apply directly for the program? I'm really baffled. As I said before, I might take that UQ path as well, depends on my application with APhra.
  19. i paid the total of $421.25 yes the fee for annual renewal of general registrated is pro-rata that's why i paid a bit less.
  20. just went to the ahpra office in queensland today, submitted my application with all the necessary docs, paid the general registration fee+overseas assessment charge+ annual renewal of general registration fee(pro-rated) = $AU400+ now the waiting game begins..
