  1. Nursing schools in the CUNY system are certainly difficult to get into. Wait-listing occurs. Do not be discouraged from this news. Jump on the bandwagon, and TRY, please. I applied to CUNY Hunter's and was waitlisted. Later, I was accepted into Adelphi University's in Garden City. In Hunter, I was in the Pre-Nursing Major track. Received all of my pre-reqs as required for a BACK-UP Nursing school ( you need to do this, sit down and figure out your alternative schools, such as private schools, then read on the prereqs per school ). I never majored in anything else- too much time, money, and focus. Stay on the Pre-Nursing track, apply into CUNY, plus other schools. Transfer out to the schools that you do get accepted from besides CUNY. Sorry to say, but although private schools are not as competitive as CUNY, while they do have standards for sure, the program is costly. It's worth it in the long-run. Now I've graduated from Nursing school and have two interviews awaiting me. Best.
  2. Completed BS in Nursing. Yes, cumulative exams take place. It varies according to Professor. Also, it takes place through what my school distributed as ATI exams- a national program that offered cumulative, online testing towards the end of each semester per course! For example, Med Surg 1, 2, Pharmacology, Pediatrics, etc. Best
  3. I was an A to B student , and never received a C in Nursing School. Please consider these recommendations: I studied on my own in the library, in a cubicle. Make it your home, as this is the only place where you can search for solitude. Do not study in groups, as many distractions arise, or intermittent chatter only slows down your study rhythm. You need to find that. Turn your cell to silent. Do not keep track of time. When you are deeply involved, time flies by. It seems that you are struggling! You need to put You 1st, because you face a great possibility of failing nursing school. Then what will you do? So put friends in the backburner. Reclaim your weekends to study. Work hard, play hard- but later. Best wishes to you.
  4. But you DO have experience as a 'high-paying Supervisor job at a major hospital'. When you feature that on your resume, surely, interviewers will ask you as what your responsibilities entailed and accomplishments in that leader-type position. Do not compare yourself to others. I graduated Nursing School in May 2010. Applied to hospitals online, only, during the summer. My first interview was a week ago, in November, and I have another one approaching next week, at a hospital. My clinical experience only includes an internship in a home care facility!. No work experience in a hospital setting besides my clinical practicuums. It's all about marketing yourself in THAT RESUME. Goal: catch that Nurse Recruiter's attention, amongst hundreds of other applicants.
  5. I took the exam on Fri June 23rd, and it was confirmed today, Mon., that I passed. On Fri. evening I did the TRICK and, after having paid for the confirmation at PEARSON VUE, it proves that it works.
  6. hi student! i'm interested in applying to adelphi myself as well, but as a transfer student. did u have to take the NET exam? i'm caught in a net of decision making about what schools to apply to. i'm past the nursing school application deadline. now if i apply to adelphi the school the itself while completing some of its prerequisites do u think I can progress to the nursing program? Thank you for your guidance.
  7. I go to Hunter College in New York and my A/P professor sucks! Persell!
  8. micro involved lots of information, you'd have to work your butt off if you plan to take it in the summer in which classes are condensed into weeks
