Test on August 20th. HELP !!!
it was hard to manage that.. that was probably my biggest weakness. but if you're doing well on the tests that's what kept my hopes up.. i'm "Expected" to pass. but there was still that small chance that i wouldn't pass as well and that's what made me anxious. just focus and don't listen to all these stories that give u stress. nclex is a safety test under stress and u are going to prove that you are a safe and effective entry-level nurse under stress. good luck! are you in so. cal?

Nclex 3rd time tom
It was my 3rd time on Monday. Read my previous post. My Kaplan instructor advised to not talk to anyone about the test. That will psyche you out. I felt the same way you did. But if you are doing well on practice tests. Especially the long ones, you should go for it! Go in planning to take 265 questions and be prepared to be there for 6 hours. That's the worst case scenerio, so just be prepared for that. Then when you get to leave earlier, it's kind of a relief. Yes right after we're anxious again wonder what does that mean and did we pass...but at least you can say you did the best you can. Good luck to you. I was in your boat & now it's time for you to get out of that boat too! :)

Repeater, Passed RN w/ 2 Exhibit Questions!
I can't believe it folks! After 3 tries... I have finally passed the boards. I seriously didn't believe I did. I felt like after 3 reviews including taking Kaplan 3 times, I didn't feel comfortable about the questions. But when I took the ATI (an exam that approximates your chances of passing given by some reviews and nursing schools) and it said 95%, I thought let's make the best of this week and then go in for the kill. It feels so good to get it over with. So if you're doing well in your Question Trainers and other questions, go for it. It is totally different from studying for nursing school exams. And like everyone says over and over, you feel like you fail. And as Kaplan says, that's because we miss 50%. And yes that feels awful and leaves you with such uncertainty. I was around questions numbered in the 60's, and had to go to the bathroom bad.. but I had another half hour before the 1st break. I said 75 is coming up, if I get to 76 then I'll raise my hand. I got up to 77 and took my break. I was taking deep breaths in the bathroom, resetting my mind. Thinking positively and preparing to take 265 questions and being there for 6 more hours. Once I pysched myself that I was ready to do that, I went back in and did #77 and #78 and I told myself, slow down now.. make sure these answers are right. Then my computer shut down. It was a relief to be done.. but then the anxiety kicks in again with what does this mean? what does this mean? I really suggest doing a few LONG pretests.. so you're used to the pace ad energy required. my first time, I didn't do many tests. so EVERY question after 75 I was like, oh no! oh no! oh no! oh no! I was probably boarderline at the point and probably had a chance to pass if I just focused but I think I just went downhill from there. The second time, I really took my time to where I ran out of time and I probably needed more questions to get me out of the boarderline area. I think just taking a lot of questions help with feeling comfortable. And being used to talking yourself through difficult ones. So back to this exam.. I had probably 15+ meds. I don't know if it remembered from previously that my pharm was below passing the first time... and near passing the second time.. but I had a lot. And not stuff that was in my Kaplan book. Or if it was in the book the answer isn't found in the book. Even in my other review books. I guess that's where critical thinking comes in.. or maybe these were the higher level questions. Now on to the Exhibiti questions. I know the tutorial covers how to answer Exhibit questions. You can even practice that on the NCSBN website at home. Make sure you know how to use that and flip through the tabs. I used to work in administration so that helped me. I was surprised when I noticed my first one since I never receieved it before. Then I was worried that maybe I had another before, where the rest of the patient's information was in the exhibit, but I overlooked the directions and the little tab at the bottom. So be alert! Good luck to everyone! I hope this gives hope to all of you, especially repeaters. It was discouraging to hear how much our chances of passing decrease as a test repeater....but this proves that when you put your mind to it and put the work in, we can beat the odds! I also prayed very hard... and friends and family said they prayed for me too. God bless all of you!

ONE more week to go..should i be doing more than q's?!?!
looks good janina. they say 5,6,7 is the one that's most like nclex. esp. 7.. so if ur scores are like that for for those q trainers should be good :) i'm keeping positive! ATI has a website.. i forgot what it stands for though. anyhow it's www.atitesting.com i think... they have programs etc.. but a few nursing schools make us take it to see our chances of passing the NCLEX.

ONE more week to go..should i be doing more than q's?!?!
what are your tests scores for the q trainer and q bank? i'm in your boat and i'm scheduled to take it next week. strangely, i took an ATI exam and it said I had a 95% chance of passing. but my Q trainers are in the high 50's and is killing my confidence i know people who passed with high 50's in q trainer.. but still my confidence is shot

Anyone from Cali who took NCLEX recently?
i'm not sure they exact requirements.. but for most of us here in cali, with our transcripts up to date at the boards and with a social security number, we've found that most people found their name on the CA state boards site: www.rn.ca.gov . there's a link that says permanent license verification, and then you type in your name and if you have a license number it will be there. it has been said by those who have passed that they have found their name on the site about 2-3 days after they have taken the test (not including weekends). Good luck! keep us posted!

13 Days After Nclex-rn In Cali
awwww... i feel you.. everytime i mention it to anyone that i haven't seen it online so therefore it must not be a good outcome, they tell me to think positively. and it's hard because we have experienced that if it's not online in the next few days after the test we receive the "package" via mail weeks after. today i have been planning my preparation to study again. but i feel like that's bringing "negative" thoughts again.. and as they say negative thoughts attract negative outcomes and positive thoughts attract positive outcomes.. but it's so hard not to. for example, the next kaplan review course is next week... and if you're just getting your results, then i might receive mine too late and have to wait until may. but til then i'll keep positive for the both of us. sometimes it just all seems too much. let's try to hang in there for the both of us. miracles happen!

Social Security #. I don't know how that works for those out of U.S. Anyone have better news? Or even ANY news? I hoping there's just a delay.. even though from my experience the people I know passed and found out on the website soon after... and I heard nothing until I got the package weeks later
