  1. hi. do tell me everything or perhaps anything you know about this agency. thank you very much.
  2. So the reason why they were charged 12-14 $ / hour was because they werent NCLEX passers yet? I recently visited sentosa and there was a part in the contract that states that u get that kind of rate if u have this temporary work permit. I asked about it and the recruitment agent clearly said that it applies only to those who hasnt passed NCLEX but since Im already an NCLEX passer I will get the 27+ rate.
  3. Thank you silverdragon for the quick reply. Yes most agencies require such experience. But since I dont have that now Im still hoping to find agencies that don't like as I said Sentosa they don't strictly require that since their facilities in the US are nursing homes and not tertiary hospitals. Anybody else who have any idea? Wonder which thread here has topics regarding that. Thank you everyone. Wishing us the best of luck to our careers!
  4. Does anyone know of any agency here in the Philippines that sends nurses to US on immigrant visa even without experience? I know of one actually SENTOSA but due to its history before I am hesitant to join them. But I am seriously contemplating it and doing my own reading and research. Besides this forum is there any other reliable websites to get this needed information? I am one of those who decided to finish all the exams (NCLEX, IELTS) first then get the experience. My dilemna now is there are just no nursing jobs available in the Metro, its hard to find one. I really dont mind working here first while waiting for the immigrant visa even if it will take long. Its okay and its not that bad even if we Filipino nurses are paid very low in our own country, in a way its a form of service on our part. So its okay really but hopefully not just forever. Its okay now that Im single and all but if one decides to raise a family its just not enough here and I guess we all know that.. To us Pinoy RN/USRNS=) the best of luck to us. Thank you for any information that anyone can share.
  5. This thread has been very informative. Thank you to all who shared their own personal experiences. Let me share mine. I attended a seminar in an agency here in the Philippines with the same program offered: study-work program in UK taking up NVQ. Two of my friends went through with the program I did not because I do not have the money anymore to shell out and also I already pass the NCLEX and IELTS. I attended the seminar for the purpose of knowing what options can we nurses have in the Phil. Anyway as I said my friends already went through with it. Their papers are under process as we speak. I feel sorry if thats the real situation there. The agency gave an impression that we will be able to still earn money, enough to sustain us there and send money back home. And in fact one of the Filipinos who is already there is able to earned back all their expenses prior to going to UK in just three months time. All the worst case scenarios are mentioned, I would like to know that if there is any good at all that can come out of pursuing this study-work program in the UK. Anyone please share if u have personal experiences or know someone under the NVQ program, do share what u know. Thank you very much!
  6. Thank you everyone for the information!
  7. hi! i asked somebody from GSA about this and they said that they are releasing F-1 visa starting this year. and the nurses under this do not have to go back home and in fact they are allowed to stay in the US once sponsored by their employer for a working visa. IS THIS TRUE? thank you for any infos!
  8. and NCLEX is not applicable in Canada. they have a separate licensure exam there.
  9. for nclex like in cali they will look for your license and if you do not yet have one, you just have to make an explanation letter stating your reasons. my friends who just took the june2007 nle in the phils and at the same time applied for nclex a few months ago have now their elligibility to take the exam.
  10. nursing is the closest thing to my first love which is medicine. and now i am a nurse and yeah im glad i was led here. best decision i made so far!
  11. congratulations!
  12. ust also offers a 3-day seminar but they dont offer completion. nkti has both a 3-day seminar and a 5-day completion.
  13. thanks for this guys!
  14. and for pinkvanilla, i think it has added points if you have family / relatives at the state you want to work. brings you closer to home.
  15. some hospitals in the philippines give training prior to hiring. and if you don't get hired, they will still give you the certificate for the training program. you paid for that(training) after all.
