as per NM bon eligibility starts from the date (month date) they received your application. so if you sent it - say, nov. 2008... since it's usually good for 1 year, it will be valid 'til nov. 30, 2009.

also i forgot to add the reason why i'm quite unconvinced is - a classmate of mine applied through CA last dec.2007, he received his eligibility 3 weeks ago. he didn't receive any email, post mail or phone call requiring him to submit his local license. now, why's that? again thanks!:nuke:

thanks. i understand. my concern is... if you tell people about this, they'll ask for proof or research for proof and all. i think the best way to provide "proof" re: this "new policy" is to send them a link from the BON's website (smaller states are able to update their website, i don't see any reason why CA can't update theirs). because what's stated in their website - is what i've attached above. so it kinda contradicts the "fact" that a local license is now a requirement. please don't get me wrong, i do believe there's truth on this piece of new information. but since it's not explicitly stated anywhere that that's that, then it's open for discussion. it's often said here... example: don't just believe anything your lawyer or agency tells you... 'cause they're not the one's who provide you with the greencard etc.... so in that same line of thinking, although AGAIN i do believe that there's truth to this new requirement... none of us here is from the CA BON (unless i'm mistaken). so i just want "solid" proof. where did this come from? 'cause regarding these letters that they received requiring the local license, stuff life this happened before - even when there weren't talks yet re: the local license being a requirement. so i was wondering if maybe somebody can provide us a link or something more "tangible" that will shed light to this new policy. i know that the moderators here have the best of intentions when they tell us that it is necessary for us to take the NLE in our own country, especially because there's a "5-yr waiting pd., etc." ideally we should be licensed in our own country and i support that. but at the same time, i don't want to limit anybody's options... if they don't want to take the NLE then it's their choice. anyways it's their lose... so nobody else should lose sleep over it. again, thanks for all the help. i'm looking forward to more info. regarding this, since i have lots of friends who are still not aware of this. my warmest regards!:nuke:

hi suzanne! thanks for the info. i just want to ask when did this take effect? i just checked their website and i didn't find anything there re: this requirement. they still have this instruction in their website: IN ADDITION FOR INTERNATIONAL APPLICANTS:A. Send Breakdown of Educational Program for International Nursing Programs form to your school with the Request for Transcript form. Also provide the Certified English Translation form to your certified translator if your transcript is not in English. (See Supplemental Application Instructions for International Graduates with the application.) B. Submit a copy of your license or diploma that allows you to practice professional nursing in the country where you were educated. If you do not hold a license, a written explanation is required. Also, provide copies of your certificates for midwifery and psychiatric nursing, if applicable. that's just my question. i know you've reiterated a lot of times that it's beneficial for us to take the NLE since it would take us 5 yrs. to get there and all... i believe that's true. but i still want to know when in particular did this take effect? thank you so much for your help and have a nice day.

hello. i just read the primer re: not going the CA route for initial licensure and it was mentioned there that after 3 years CA will destroy your records if you're still not legally working there by that time. now, i'm just not sure if i'm not searching CA BON's website thoroughly but i really can't find that "3-year info." there... all i can i see is the 8-year renewal for lapsed RN license. can somebody please provide me with the link, so i can inform (or warn) my friends who are planning to take that route. thank you so much for the help and advance happy holidays.

hi there, help please. i'm thinking of doing the CES route for NM licensure (since i'm planning to endorse my license to NJ in the future) instead of having them evaluate my transcripts and RLE. having said that, do i still need to let my school submit my credentials to the NM bon or will the CES suffice? thank you so much! thanks for the reply. so let's just say (i said let's just say ok, i know it's not over) retrogression is over... will it be easier for me to get hired if i do have a hard license. say, i have a AZ license and i want to work in NJ, do i just have to endorse or am i required to work at AZ first, before i can endorse my license in another state?

Hi there! Just a quick question... I'm a nurse here in the phils. and I'm just curious - what are the advantages of applying for licensure in a state that provides you with a hard license, once you've submitted all the requirements and passed NCLEX? Also, if I was issued a hard license will I be able to apply for reciprocity(?) in another state (immediately) or do i still have to fulfill some requirements (say a SSN)? Will greatly appreciate your thoughts on this. Thank you very much in advance.

hi. i just want to ask - do they require me to be a registered nurse here in the phils. before i can apply for their CAP program? i don't plan on taking the local board exams, since I'm planning to work in the US, but due to retrogression...i'm interested in aquiring as much knowledge and skills that i can while waiting. i can't do that here in the phils. since as i've mentioned i don't plan on taking the local board. thank you so much!

sorry. but i just want to clarify IF we really need to take the NLE for the visa screen certificate. what happened to kanebo's case (the one applying for licensure in IL) and the email that suzanne sent to cgfns last May 2007. thanks.
