  2. UPDATE: Here it is, Keep in mind this for Maryland from BON. RE:Notice of Maryland Tax Deficiency Notice of Impending Denial of License or Certificate Dear Licensee or Certificate-holder: During the past legislative session, the Maryland General Assembly decreed that the Maryland State Boards and Commissions, including the Maryland Board of Nursing (the "Board"), may not renew licenses or certificates where the licensee or certificate-holder is delinquent in payment of taxes to the State of Maryland. Please note that the Board of Nursing has no discretion in this matter and is not authorized to make exceptions to the law passed by the General Assembly. You are hereby advised to contact the Comptroller at 410-974-2432 immediately to arrange for payment of your tax deficiency. Until the Board receives verification from the Comptroller that you have paid the delinquent taxes or made arrangements for payment that are satisfactory to the Comptroller, renewal of your license/certification will be delayed. DO NOT CALL THE BOARD OF NURSING TO DISCUSS THIS MATTER; COMMUNICATION WITH THE COMPTROLLER IS THE ONLY METHOD THAT WILL RESOLVE YOUR TAX DELINQUENCY AND THE RESULTING DELAY IN RENEWAL. Once you have resolved your tax dispute, the Comptroller will notify the Board that the hold on your renewal is lifted. The Board will then be authorized to proceed with renewal of your license or certificate. Sincerely, Donna M. Dorsey, R.N., M.S. Executive Director
  3. OMG, thank you for responding...I am glad your nightmare is coming to an end. chiari
  4. I heard if you owe taxes, the state will not issue you your License...is that true? Someone else said, if you owe as long as you have a payment plan established that they will allow you to get your license. Help...because I owe and it's going to take a while to pay off. chiari
  5. Update my assignment has been extended until May 30:roll . So that's another 2 months. As long as the agency can keep me working, I am fine with working as a temporary for the time being. My focus is on school and as long as I can pay my bills...I am going to focus on school stuff.:smiletea2: Chiari:smilecoffeeIlovecof
  6. Wow Clarise, YOU ARE THE QUEEN! How did you do it??? chiari
  7. My neice is a NA and she gets anywhere between $12-$14, in Baltimore, Maryland. chiari
  8. Well, I currently work for an temporary agency, my actually job site is at a bank. Well I've been at this assignment believe or not, for 2 years. This morning I found out my last day may be Friday. The supervisor is fighting for them to hire me but, most likely they won't, and if they would consider hiring me I wouldn't get pass the application process due to my Poor, Poor Credit...I owe Taxes. chiari
  9. DON'T DO THAT LOSTINTRENTON! Simply because you failed a test you don't give up, you study and re-test until you pass. If you were in allready in the nursing program and failed a test would you quit...:angryfire No! you'd probably do what I would, pout, complain, have a pity party and STUDY AND RETEST! chiari
  10. You know what Futurenursethatcares, WE CAN DO THIS!! Let's just take it one step at a time. Stop looking to far into the future because our minds will play tricks on us and make up excuses why we shouldn't do this. chiari
  11. Good morning, futurenurse...I have the same thoughts...what if I actually get accepted in nursing school and pass the Licensing Test and then freeze on the job... chiari
  12. Wow!! Congrats again:smiletea: have you thought about which school your going to attend? :) chiari
  13. Sorry I can't help you. I just recently started using blackboard to prepare for the accuplacer test. chiari
  14. Thanks blessed061987:smiletea2: , your story is so motivating for an old-timer like me. :smiletea: chiari
  15. Fantastic!!! Congratulations!!! :balloons: :lol2: :lol2: :balloons: :balloons:
  16. Good morning, Nurses and Future Nurse!:balloons: Next week I will be going to Community of College of Baltimore City to speak with an Admissions Officer regarding enrollment. My question is the Accuplacer Test, are you required to write an essay? If so, are you given the topic or that's left up to the individual? How was difficult was the Accuplacer Test? It's been 15+ years since I've been to school or written an essay? chiari
  17. Unfortunately, you can't because it's a degreed program that is labeled "Selective Admissions", therefore, you have to speak to an admissions officer first. How are you enjoying returning to school? How are the classes? Did you have to take any developmental classes? chiari
  18. Thanks Hopefull2009, I agree with you however, I can't seem to shake this feeling...I had it for years about attending college. I am feel so intimidated by the entire process of enrolling. But, I know I can do it 90% of the time if I can just get pass the enrollment part. I really want this. I have to take control of this fear I have it's held me back for most of my life. FEAR -- False Evidence Appearing Real chiari:balloons:
  19. From what I've read it's recommended not to work while attending the Nursing Program. Now in my world that's not an option for me. I am a single mother of 2 children, 1 grandchild...Although my daughter, 18 years old is now working, which is a big help... I still have bills that must be paid. I don't have money or anyone willing to sign over their paycheck to me. How many of you work fulltime and attend the school? How many successfully completed the RN Program while working fulltime? chiari
  20. No, I can't go today, I'm at work and don't get off until 5pm. I'm trying to contact a friend of mine to go with me. But, if she doesn't go, I'll go by myself after all she won't be attending class with me. If I can get pass the initial enrollment and interview, I'll be fine. Thank you all again for the support!!! chiari
  21. Well as I said yesterday, I actually made the call to the admissions office at the local community college where I live and left a message...and I recieved a call back this morning and Ms. Joyce said she would send me the information on the Nursing Program:balloons: Also, I don't need an appointment to speak to an Admissions Officer, simply come in between 8a-5p, Mon-Fri. I wish I had someone to go with me. I know I'm being a big baby about this but I know what's going to happen, I'll go and stand out front as usually looking in and WIMP OUT! I'll get butterflies in my stomach and start to perspire...I think in my other life, I was murdered in a college classroom or at least in the building. I am 41 years old, I will do this damn it. I will do this!!!!!:monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance: :monkeydance: chiari
  22. Ogopogo, I didn't know that RN's did careplans either. I always thought the physician did the careplans...that's interesting. chubbi
  23. I read several negative post regarding community colleges. Could someone explain what issue they have with community colleges vs private colleges.
  24. Thanks Irene Joy:lol2: !! I feel totally out of my league, out of my comfort zone:o . Thanks for the support!! It helps enormously.. chubbi
  25. I know this may sound silly to you all, but I have a phobia about colleges. I have stood outside the door of the community college where I live at least 5 times and did not go in. I don't know what is wrong with me. But I actually called to speak to an Admissions Officer today which is a big step for me, the answering machine picked up and my first response was relief no one answered and to hang up. But, I didn't I left a message. This could be the start of something BIG! chubbi
