  7. hi,isneyk im a RN from hong kong,i also want to work in NYC. Recently, i applied for the CP (certification programme) from CGFNS. unfotunately, they reject it since i havent sufficient hours in infant/maternal nursing in therorectical instruction and clinical practice. i phoned to CGFNS already ask for the number of hours which i need for this specialty. they said its confidential...............lol and now i dont know what to do bcoz im gonna apply for the CVS from CGFNS but im afraid they'll reject me with the same reason......i ask the staff in CGFNS again whether they'll reject me r not. they said they are not sure...."u have to send it first to seee..." what a good answer.....i dont really know how much i have to spend in the CGFNS again and again........im thinking like im gambling with them....pay them and wait for refusal lol........ on the other hand ,im thinking to make up my hours in the infant/maternal nursing so i can meet their requirement. however, we dont have such a single course provide to me in hong kong since all nursing school has been closed for several years.anyone has idea what should i do here ? 1.send the CVS for NYS to CGFNS and try my luck? 2.find a single course of infant/maternal in overseas or in states? 3.anyone know there's a single course for that part of nursing and approved by CGFNS? 4.does anyone know about the hours of infant/maternal nursing in applyiing for NCLEX in NYS? 5.should i apply to vermont like some nurses do which is more easy and fast? thx for all ur attention here guys... best regards
  8. hi, all nurses here recently, i've been applying for the CP of CGFNS, today, i received a letter that they refused my application of the certification programme bcos i dont have enough hours in INFANT/MATERNAL nursing from my nursing school. now, im thinking if i want to apply for the NCLEX in new york. do they count on my working and stuy hours in all part of nursing like the Certification Programme do? i graduated and work in hong kong as a registered nurse, i dont know where i can find an institute which provide the infant/maternal nursing only since all nursing school were closed by the government here 4 yrs ago. we only have the university which provide the whole course of nursing but not individually like infant/maternal nursing lol................ i really need some suggestions and informations of that ........(apply NCLEX in NEW YORK) im afraid i just waste the money if i send to apply for the CVS of new york. ?????? thanks for all ur attention.....best regards

  11. thx for ur attention and quick replies ANNA and SUZANNE ,but i really want to move and work there........im not in a hurry to go there....the CVS processing time is a bit long, but i think i can wait........i also want to ask if i want to work in the OT there in NYC, do i need to get another OT lisence or special trainning which organised by the US hosp. there? that means what i have to do is apply for the CVS programme of NY from CGFNS org. and wait for the result and then apply for the NCLEX of NY BON,right? i just applied for the CGFNS certification programme...and waiting for the ATT....if i also want to apply for the CVS, can i ask the CGFNS to transfer my transcript and the lisence verification of my country to the CVS programme?? what should i do if i can do that?? how much do i need to pay to them and where can i get the form for that request?? thx for all here.......
  12. hi all here, i'm a RN from HONG KONG with over 5 years experiences working in ICU and OPERATING THEATRE. i'd like to ask what should i do if i want to work in new york city. since i read some forums here said that working in nyc needs more further trainning and experiences, is that true? just want to confirm what kind of trainning i need there.....is it the one they mention in the website of NY BON , infectious control and child abuse tranning course? i've gone to read the NY BON website, they said i need the EDUCATIONAL CREDENTIALS VERIFIED BY CGFNS........what is it CEV? therefore, i dont need to take CGFNS if i want to take the NCLEX in NYC, right?:uhoh21: after i passed the NCLEX in NYC, what should i do next? i really need some informations and advice from here since i couldnt find any agencies in HK which can help me to do all the processing and application for me............ thx for all ur attentions.........thx alot .................
