Banning Crocs?
I gotta have my Crocs! I have wore all kinds of shoes and nothing compares to these! After being on my feet all day.. my feet don't hurt. With all the other footwear, my feet always hurt. As for a needle dropping and hitting in one of those holes...what are the odds? If you know you will be working around a lot of blood(trauma, injuries, IV starts...etc), wear shoe covers. As for those "things" you can put in the holes...that can be another option. I have had shoes without the vents....lets just say...I Have to have the vents! Thank goodness our facility hasn't banned them..but I could see it happen.

phone calls no outsider would believe
Another one.... I am breastfeeding and I was wondering if swallowing sperm will transfer to the baby during feeding? I asked her who wants to know(her or her significant other). She said him. I told her if she didn't feel like doing that to tell him it can really harm the baby. She laughed and said "He really wants me to do that" I ended up transferring that call to OB. We all got a real kick outta that one!

For all who have or do work in a nursing home....
I tried to work in nursing home once. I was training to do it PRN because I was needing more hours. I was working part-time in ER. I hated the nursing home job. I was on orientation, trying to learn my job. I didn't get to know my patients historys because there was no time. All I did was pass pills, & give what treatments I could. I didn't know what pt.'s were coming or going from the facilty. I had 2 halls(40 pt.'s). It was awful. The facility didn't want to give me more than 2 wk.'s orientation. I felt patient care was being compromised. I quit. I worked too hard to get my license. There were so many oppurtunities for mistakes to occur. NOT worth it!
