  1. Good thought to bring up though... b/c im really happy working in emergency (even though management can be a bit.. umm sketchy at times)... I guess the question im asking myself is will the new job scope of an NP give me as much satisfaction as i get out of going crazy in the ED 4x a week b/c im pretty sure it won't pay as well hehe. Thanks for bringing up this thread, it is nice to hear what new grads have to say about the job market/situation is atm.
  2. A lot of the job postings ask for NP's with 2+ years of experience... are there jobs out there for new grads in the bay area? (i won't be picky, i guess you just take what you can get)
  3. Hi, I recently got accepted into an FNP program and have been having one hell of a debate of whether to accept it, or just wait and go to med school. The hard part of my decision is of course, if i complete an FNP, will there be jobs out there when im done? (i've heard that NPs might be a declining trend) The tempting thing about med school is that once im done jumping through all the loops, i will be able to practice anywhere i want, but as everyone knows as an NP you need job openings (in most states) because you have to collaborate with physicians in most states... Does anyone know what the job outlook is like for NP's in cali or in the east coast? Are there jobs out there and does it look like the career outlook will be positive? Currently i work in an ED as an RN, but i hope to maybe do some family practice with an advanced degree in the future... to be honest im a city boy and i find it might be hard to move out to rural areas.. so does anyone know if there are NP openings in urban doctor offices and/or hospitals? I know the pay isn't as good as RN pay, but basically a job that can pay the bills and is fulfilling is all i need~ Thanks for taking the time to read this!
  4. typically they say, prioritizing is considered the difficult end and basic recall is on the easier end... by prioritizing i think they mean questions that go "what would you do FIRST" or "who would you see FIRST" or "what is most important for the nurse to do"... that is what i have heard but i don't believe there is any hard set way to know whether you got what NCLEX considers a "hard question" or an "easy question" and whether the questions you got were considered "competent" or "non competent"
  5. Good luck doll!! =) ... and Congrats !
  6. So is mine... my classmates and i are checking our ip's non stop haha~ sigh~ SJSU so freakin slow at getting out our transcripts, my file not even complete yet i took the test on tuesday~
  7. Does your IP (if you have one) get taken down as soon as they release your scores?
  8. CONGRATS!.. im freakin jealous of people who can do quick results haha =) GO OUT AND TREAT URSELF TO SOMETHING GOOD!
  9. If it makes you feel any better, all of us go through that emotional rollercoaster while waiting for grades. Its crazy, but think of it as a right of passage... no worries there was some things on the NCLEX that i had never seen before either... and i did 4000 questions before i went in. First thing i did was look it up after i got out.. and guess what.. it wasn't even in my med surg book.. now that is pathetic~
  10. thats G R E A T GRRRRREEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTTT! congrats =)
  11. It is just another obstacle that you have to overcome. Nursing school had plenty of challenges that you have already beat, take time to relax, refocus, and then achieve. You can do it, plenty of others have.
  12. I hate the "the home health nurse would require IMMEDIATE intervention if:"... picking the less of two evils~
  13. i feel like that... looked up a few questions and i got like 4 out of the 5 questions i looked up wrong... ugh:angryfire
  14. good luck =)... i really need to get out too... go for a run.. get drunk in downtown.. maybe go get drunk and then go for a run.. that'd keep my mind off the test for awhile =) haha jk
