ETSU ROPD Spring 2016
Hello everyone! I have been accepted to this program for spring 2018. Is there a Facebook group or online group where students are connecting? Does anyone have any feedback on this program?

University of South Alabama BSN-DNP Spring 2018
Yeah, so I got my rejection letter today. I don't know exactly where I went wrong. I have a 3.9 gpa, 8 years of experience, and I thought I wrote a killer essay. I guess it wasn't the right kind of experience? I applied for the FNP MSN program.

Can't find it. Did you make it closed or secret?

RODP FNP in TN? Anyone?
That's too bad. I had a bad experience with Tennessee State University as well, but thankfully it was during the admissions process so I was able to run FAR far away. I've had nothing but a good experience so far with applying to MTSU (they now have a standalone program). However, I am in-state.

RODP FNP in TN? Anyone?
Hmm, are you referring specifically to the MSN program or just online rodp in general? If you are going to medical school, why are you getting a MSN, if you don't mind my asking? Can you articulate what you didn't like about rodp? What was your major? Who was your home school? I ask because we all want feedback that helps us to make a better decision about each program. What do you like specifically about Walden? Are you in the US? Which state?

University of South Alabama BSN-DNP Spring 2018
Y'all, I am in a few of the fb groups for this program, and they make it seem SO DURN INTIMIDATING!! Is anyone else getting cold feet? Has anyone applied to any other programs, or just South Alabama? I applied to MTSU online program. At 533 per credit hour it's a little bit cheaper, but I'm having trouble finding out anything about the actual program. I realize you shouldn't go just on cost, but I'm getting so intimidated by everyone posting in those darn Facebook groups! Plus, it's a little frustrating that they only start clinicals in the fall semester. How are y'all handling the wait?!?

RODP FNP in TN? Anyone?
Which school was your home school when you were doing rodp? I had a terrible experience applying to TSU, and was completely put off by their admissions office and msn advisor. I think I dodged a bullet there. Several schools have dropped out of the rodp, if that says anything. MTSU now has a stand-alone online program, and I have had nothing but a good experience applying to their program for spring 2018 so far. What is the tuition per credit hour at Walden? Part of the reason I am needing to go to a state school, or affordable online school, is $. MTSU tuition is 533 per credit hour for the graduate online classes.

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) FNP program...any info to share?
Thank you SO much for responding! This program is surprisingly difficult to find information on! I've not been able to get any feedback from current students, nor find a social media group. I have a few more questions, if you'd be willing to indulge. ;-) I will post them here so others can see the responses (if you will indulge us), but if it's ok I'd like to PM you and see if we might connect! -Are you a TN resident? If so, where are you located? :-) (I'm in Bartlett) -Are you in the completely online program? -Did you apply to other schools? I applied to the University of South Alabama as well, mostly because the tuition rate is low, it's a (mostly) online program, and it has good reviews. -When you said you're "full-time" is that 6 or 9 credit hours per semester (2 or 3 classes)? -Group projects? -Tuition: If you're an in-state student can you verify the tuition rate for the online MSN? I've gotten 3 different quotes, ranging from $533 to $7XX (see most recent quote from the MSN advisor). If you could confirm that I'd super appreciate it!! :-) "Here is the chart we need to look at for Graduate Instate total, shows $533/per credit hour, http://mtsu.edu/tuition/forms/17-18_Graduate.pdf Then the breakdown of fees can be found on What Does it Cost? | Middle Tennessee State University 1. Click on Miscellaneous Course fees for Distance Education fee, $30.00 per credit hours 2. Click on Specialized Course fees, Nursing fees of $55/per credit hour. If you take 6 credit hours for fall your cost would be: $3,708.- not including textbooks" Facebook: I realize you're not on FB, but it's still a great platform for networking. I've gone ahead and created a group for MTSU MSN students (mainly FNP, but anyone can join). It's called "MTSU MSN/FNP Students (Middle Tennessee State University Nurse Practitioner". If you'd be willing to share the FB link/name with any current students, that would be awesome. I realize it's a small program, so networking is super important. :-) Here's the link for inquiring minds: Log into Facebook | Facebook facebook.com/groups/1214119905400889/

Middle Tennessee State University (MTSU) FNP program...any info to share?
Does anyone have any updated input on this program? They have recently transitioned OUT of the RODP/TN eCampuse affiliation and have a stand-alone online MSN now. I have applied for Spring 2018, and would love any RECENT feedback about the experience! I'm specifically wondering about: -Time commitment per class for online platform at MTSU -Testing - proctored or not, open book?, -Is there a Facebook group or other online group where students can connect?

RODP FNP in TN? Anyone?
Hello! Does anyone have any recent experience with MTSU? I'm looking to get a feel for the testing process, clinical acceptance, and general feel for the online FNP. They have recently switch over to a stand-alone program and are no longer with the rodp / Tennessee eCampus program. Anybody has any insight it is much appreciated.

Online MSN Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Programs
Thank you so much for this! i believe Indiana university has an all online program as well (no campus visits), but it is more credit hours and requires and upper level statistics course. :-( i had read that in the past USI charged in-state tuition for msn students that live out-of-state. Does anyone have any recent info on this?

titrating pressors
I always titrate in mcg/min or mcg/kg/min. We program our pumps with the concentration (usually 4mg in 250 ml or 8 mg in 250 ml), and set it up so that it can be titrated by mcg. I think this is safer practice because you are sure of how much drug is going in. Some nurses still titrate based on mL, but I find that to be risky since depending on the concentration of the drug the mL can change drastically. Furthermore, it is bad practice to have a policy (official or unofficial) to titrate up or down by "5". Patients can have different sensitivies to a drug, and although when initially starting a drug you may always start levophed at 5 or 10 mcg/min, the titration is usually different for every patient. I've had patients where I wean them by 5 mcg every 15 min, and patients where I had to wean by 0.5 mcg every 2 hours because they were so sensitive to changes. When in doubt, always go with the safest methods. Good luck!
