  1. Hi Placebo I got my CPhT back in the 90's. I went to Brewster Technical school in Tampa for training. I am going to Valencia Community College in Orlando but I've visited Polk - Nice campus I like Lake Elbert. I think you'll find that being a pharmacy technician especially in a hospital setting will be a great help in nursing school and beyond.
  2. Thank you so much. I deeply appreciate all of your kind words of support. I have a feeling that nursing people are the kindest people on earth.
  3. I hope that bad things happen in threes because quite frankly I cant take any more. On May 4 my wife of 24 years died of a pulmonary emboli. It happened so suddenly I didnt even have a chance to say goodbye to her. She herself was in the medical field for over 30 years and helped thousands and thousands of people. She was unquestionably the finest person I have met on this earth and I miss her so much. Last week I was rushed to the emergency room with an intestinal blockage due to an abdominal hernia. I will be having repair surgery next week. Yesterday I got a letter from my CC that said that I was put on a wait list despite the fact that I have a gpa of 4.0 Thanks for listening to my problems. Paul
  4. Hi MANinER I go to school in Orlando also. I am curious to know which school put you on the alternate list and which school has the one year waiting list. Thanks.
  5. I tried to learn all the elements when I took chemistry, but I was bound to fail because I could only study the table periodically.:chuckle
  6. Hi FN, I attended Erwin Tech in the mid 90's while I was living in Carrollwood. I took their Pharmacy Technician class and found that their education was excellent. They also have a large selection of clinical sites. I did an internship at Town and Country Hospital in Tampa. I am now living in Orlando working in one of the area's hospitals and finishing my pre-reqs at Valencia Community College. Good luck with your nursing education.
  7. Valencia Community College
  8. Renee, I also live in Orlando. I work at one of the area hospitals as a pharmacy technician. I only work 16 hours a week, due to the large amount of study time needed but it pays bills so I cant complain.
  9. I am taking Medical Terminology next semester. It is my last pre-requisite before I apply. Im thinking that it won't be too hard because I am a hospital pharmacy technician now and I have seen most of the terminology at some point or another
  10. This is my first post so I want to say hi to everyone out there! Got all a's this semester. Yay for me! I just have two easy classes next semester; Medical Terminology and Professions of Caring. My school admits on the point system and the person with the highest total score in the last nursing class was 53, I should have a 51 so I am feeling pretty good right now. Anyway I want to wish everyone a great semester break and the happiest of Holidays!
