  1. Anyone else having problems with GA BON? I had to call, write, and fight just to get my ATT and now that I have passed NCLEX they are taking forever to post my license, I mean this is the worst experience ever!
  2. Thanks for the congrats. I actually already have a job, I was hired before I graduated NS. They were just waiting on me to pass boards!
  3. I took my test on Feb 10th and I was just unsure of the results. I felt like I really did not know if I had answered any of the questions correctly, so when I received my results I was elated!
  4. I had 75quest same as OP, I just found out this morning that I PASSED!!! What a joy. Don't stress I'm sure you passed. Keep us posted.
  5. Congrats!!! I just found out that I too passed. What a wonderful feeling. Keep celebrating!!
  6. I have not posted here in soooo long, but I thought today was a good day to start back. I just found out that I passed NCLEX-RN this morning. :bowingpurI give all thanks and praise to GOD because without him I could have never done this:bowingpur. I graduated December 12th and took NCLEX February 10th and now it is all over. For those wondering I stopped at 75 questions, lots of priority and delegation, meds I did not know, infection control, around 4 SATA and a lot of praying. This was my first time(and last) taking this crazy test. I am so thankful and happy that I have my life back. Best wishes to all of you with this journey ahead of you. You can and will do this.
  7. Hey sorry it took so long to reply. They are really keeping me busy. Good for you for turning in your application! The instructors are soooo sweet and helpful, we have had 3 tests so far and another comming on Monday:uhoh3: The doasage calc test was not that bad you had to have a 90 or better to pass, and I PASSED!!! You have a total of 3 attempts to try. I have only been in school for 2 weeks but it feels like 2 months. So far we have used a lot of the books we bought, not taking them to school, but just doing the 10 hour reading assisgnments per day that we have;) Well hope that gives you some insight and good luck with your TEAS on Tuesday. Keep me posted.
  8. Thanks a mill mex, I am very interested in working at CHOA, so I guess I'll have to wait and make the next deadline. Congrats to u for making it. I am at Gordon ADN and I too graduate in May 09, so keep me posted.
  9. Hey Mexarican Congrats on getting the scholarship!:balloons: I am interested in the CHANCES scholarship at CHOA too, could you tell me when you applied and if it was hard to obtain. Any info would be greatly appreciated.:)
  10. Hey Mr.RN_Hopefull my schedule for this fall is fund of nursing and pharm I which totals to 8 credit hours, school days are M-Th 8-2 and 8-4 on some days, I don't know my clinical schedule we don't start that until Oct but hopefully they'll let us know at oreintation
  11. I did all my prereqs at Gordon, but I had a gpa of 3.9 and all prereqs completed including the regents, I know they go by a point system, so you get so many points for having prereqs done, points for regents, and then so much for your teas score. The teas test was not hard but I did not do that well b/c I brought a calculator but it was too advanced so make sure you have a very basic one, otherwise it was pretty easy. It covered common sense stuff.
  12. just curious, what is the role of a radiology nurse?
  13. I agree with the whole slave thing. I work as a PCT (like a CNA) in a er and the nurses are soooo lazy. We always have holds that will not take vital signs on their pts they only are assigned four pts and we have twelve or more. They will not help clean the room once the pt is gone and when we have down time they are on the computer while we are cleaning and stocking everything, while they check e-mails and such:trout:
  14. Thanks so much for the info I was hoping to have Fridays off but oh well, I didn't know the clincal days change, I work on Fri and Sat nights only so I hope in won't conflict or else no job for me, school is at the top of my list for now.
  15. Heck no you're not bugging me I've been waiting on someone to share with! Yes I did all my prereqs at Gordon I finishined in just under one yr, when I was applying the staff (one in particular) was sort of unfriendly, but I figured maybe she does not like her job:uhoh3:but eveyone else seemed to be a great help, and no I have not bought my books yet the list keeps growing:angryfire, but I'm just blessed to be in the program so I won't complain;)We have oreintation on Aug 8th and 9th and we can use our aid on the 8th in the book store so that's when I plan on buying my small library:lol2:Hope that answers everything and if you have any ques pls feel free to ask. GOOD LUCK!!
  16. Hey thanks so much for the insight;) I know you graduated in 99 but do you remeber what days clincals were on? As it stands now I don't have any classes on Fri and was wondering would that change for clinicals, any info would help and Congrats:balloons: to you for finishing, and thanks again
  17. I am so glad to find someone who will be going to Gordon, I was begining to think I was all alone:uhoh21: So I was accepted into the nursing program for this fall and can't wait, the process was not hard at all, but any ques you might have pls feel free to ask, I'm just glad there are other peole going to Gordon:welcome:
  18. I posted this under general nursing student thread, but figured I would get more replies here. So anyone with me on this boat pls post I have so much to talk about especially with oreintation coming up in a few weeks!! So let's chat:monkeydance:
  19. Ok RNCRNA2BE I hear what your saying and no one is asking that she put off having a chid and true know can predict the outcome of the pregnancy, BUT why should I have to pick up your slack b/c you are preg. If the job is more than she can handle pls look for another position where the work is not as physicaly demanding.
  20. The charge nurse(one of them) is fully aware of the situation and promotes it at times:angryfire, however I am thinking about taking it to the er manager so something can be done about it.
  21. Hello and thank-you, she is not a high risk preg to my knowledge, but if she were and was keeping it a secret, how about pulling me to the side and saying hey I know I can't do such and such but if you will help I'll do all the such and such, just don't assume I'm obligated to do everything for you. I'm an understanding person who is willing to help but not be used. I have two kids and husband to go home to and I need energy to take them on (HELLO)
  22. OMG! I have so much more to say but I will keep it breif. First I do not think my attitude towards my co-worker has nothing to do with how I will treat my pts in the future b/c they need my help and that is my duty as a nurse, however to do all the work in the er is not my duty. I understand that people have other things going on in their plate, I get that, but it is up to her to get a note from her doctor for restricted duty if aval, so that mgmt can get an able body in that can work and she could be float. The op added maybe switch duties I totally agree if I take all pts up maybe she can stock all the rooms but nope she just does hers and stop, and speaking of being a nurse my pts are lacking b/c I can't respond to them quickly b/c I'm running around like a chicken with it's head chopped off trying to do everything!:nono:So will I be a good nurse, YEP you bet and I take anyone's side male or female if their right.
  23. I am so upset right now:angryfire I work as a PCT in a busy ER on the weekends. There is a girl who found out she is pregnant a couple of months ago, and now she thinks that's an excuse not to do her share of the work. We have 22 er rooms in which we have 3 PCT's to cover 2 in the back splitting rooms and 1 in triage. Last night the pregnant tech who is 4-5 months pregnant (3rd child by the way) would not empty her laundry bags or help take her admitted patients upstaris! Now I understand if you have complications then you should be at home or on light duty, not in the er where it is very busy for you to just fold your arms and ignore your work!. I had to take her patients up and mine and still maintain the care for my own pts. I am not the one who got her pregnant if she feels she can't carry out her duties then maybe she and the baby's father need to work it out where she can stay at home, because employers are to treat you like any other employee who is not pregnant. I hope I don't come off sounding mean but that's how I feel, I have two kids of my own and worked very hard with both until it was time for me to deliver with no mercy:trout:. You do what you got to do!
  24. Sorry for the hard day, you sound like a really good nurse surrounded by the wrong people. Hope everything works out for you
  25. I would say on a scale of 1-10 A&P I-2, II-4 (only b/c of the teacher and of course the cat EEWW!). Micro on the other hand I would give a 1, my teacher was wonderful, she explained everything so well. I know many will not agree with me, but micro was A-Okay ?
