Please Read and Help w/decision. thx
:oJust graduated RN School in May and passed boards, am working at a Nursing Home, training for a Clinical Coordinator position, I have been there for 6 weeks. The downfall is I am making $16.00 a hr. which is low pay for a RN, now, once I get into the position which is suppose to be in the next two weeks, it should pay around 19-20 an hr and maybe salary, which is still mediocore for a RN. However, I work Mon-Frid 8-4 days, and the company is very good to me, I mainly do paper work and only clinical things like Medi port meds that LPNs can't access. I get little perks like gifts and game tickets an hr for lunch, pretty much do my own thing. My medical insurance for family starts in Sept which will be over $300.00 a month, not including dental. I love the job, although I feel cheated. I am trying to save money to build or buy a house. On the other hand, I have been offered a job working for $23.00 an hr at a hospital which will be night shift 12 hrs a day, working 3 days one week and 4 days the next, with medical insurance for around $100.00 a month. The downfall here is it is Union which they are saying the RNs will strike in Sept. and they Mandate RNs all the time. Also, I would have to work some weekends. And they are not very good to there employees, my mom works there. They love her but, she works all the time for them, plus she still gets mandated. I don't know what to do, I had originally planned to do PrN on weekends at another facility for $34.00 an hr. That would put me working 7 days a week some weeks, So, does anyone have any input, and please don't feel like it is not your place to tell me, I need some good advice, especially from experienced Nurses.

OMG I passed w/265? follow up: What I used to study
To me at the time of the test, I felt like the 1st 75 I knew, after that the Priority questions kept getting harder & harder, the examples of patients of who to see first were so severely hurt and close it was difficult to choose, however, my instructor said that is due to me getting more & more right, the test makes them harder and harder, and I may not get them right at that point. The book really helped me to learn how to answer the questions, make sure you are reading the rationales on the ones you get wrong, so you can see why you chose the wrong answer or just on the ones that confuse you. Again some of the who to see first or what delegation to give to a New RN, a LPN, or a CNA were obvious then as the number of questions got higher, they got more difficult, I wanted to see them all first. Just try to think of what might happen right at that moment with each one if you don't see them right at that moment. Good Luck, let me know if I can help you any other way.

OMG I passed w/265? follow up: What I used to study
for anyone who wants to know how & what i studied here it is. this is besides the regular semester schooling and i sat for the kaplan review, which i did not feel helped me except the abc's in choosing your answer. i did use that during my exam friday when i had no clue. i used the mosby's priority, delegation & assignments book, it was required for us to buy in our last semester which was jan of this year. also, i had 3 nclex practice books they required us to buy too, however, i had read on here that susans plan included the saunders green q&a book, thank god, i had that one, so i used it along with the priority book. [color=#483d8b]i answered all the q's in the priority book twice and i used the cd out of the back of the green saunders book when i was at home on my lap top over and over, when i was out in a car or somewhere i took my green saunders book with me and practiced. [color=#483d8b]what helped me with the cd was doing the quick 10 question reviews, it felt like i was answering 10 questions really fast instead of choosing alot and feeling like i would never get done, you can choose 1 content or multi content when doing the 10 questions, i did both. [color=#483d8b]if anyone has anymore q's pm me or post on here, i will be more than glad to help.

Posted:No Provisional on KBON 1day after test taking????has anyone seen this?
Okay, here is the deal, my friend took Rnclex Thurs of this week, well yesterday Friday, she checked the Kentucky Board of Nursing website and it stated No Provisional license held. Where as before she held the provisional up until she took her test, so today she found out she Failed??? So, does that mean if it stated no provisional held 1 day after the test, that KBON already had her results??? is that normal? has anyone else who has failed seen this?? I keep checking mine, today because I took my RNclex yesterday, I am freaked out, my friend failed with 210 questions, I had all 265 yesterday. Can anyone reply, Thx

Got 265? on Rnclex Today....anyone else?? felt like I failed
I took my NCLEX this AM @ 9, I was so dissapointed when it did not shut off at 75, I thought well, maybe it will soon, I was tortured after that, the questions got harder around 150 and at that point I felt like an idiot, I did not know whether I was coming or going, I finally started fading off into lala land, I asked myself (in my head of course) what is wrong with you?:smackingf this is the most imp test of my life and I could not focus, that was around 198, I finally started looking at the answers and saying yep thats it. I ended up in major pain from sitting in that chair for four hours, plus I was froze to death, and I was mad:angryfire because I had to do all those questions, instead of just 75 like a lot of people. I then walked out of there after my 265 questions, and told my husband it would be a miracle if I passed that. Only god could do that. Now I have to wait two days, can anyone reply to my post and tell me if they had 265 also this week and how they felt? I would appreciate it, I have read almost every post on here about the NCLEX exams and the ones that got the full amount of ?'s. Thanks
