  1. I worked LTC-I would but the ID band on -next day would find many of them on the desk-how the residents got them of is beyond me. Many times they would just disappear-we never knew what happened to the bands. Could also cause skin issues. Also would put bands on the wheelchairs-often questioned this-HIPPA.. Hard to get it right inLTC.
  2. You say you have learned from all the stuff you have gone through. I say take what you need and let it go at that-if your former co-workers are that rotten-it will not mean anything to them. Just let it go!
  3. Learned years and years ago you do not have friends at work. I would not only watch my back but my front, top of my head and the bottom of my feet. AND it only got worse the longer I worked-glad I'm done with it.
  4. Well, I do know this--what we have now is BROKEN and it needs fixed!
  5. In my mind you said what you needed to say and I do not think you where nasty, mean, anything like that--just to the point sometimes that what it takes! Good Luck
  6. worked beside two PA's--I thought they where great. I have also been treated by PA's and I have no complalints as a matter of fact-they seem to give you the time you need and show more understanding. Just my thoughts.
  7. I don't post often--but this thread is so touching to me!!!!::heartbeat
  8. Sounds like my son's eating plan. And he much healthier than my husband and I --- he works out most days-never seems to get tired or sick. Hubby and I do try to eat more healthy also-but my sone could sure teach us some better habits. Good Luck to you
  9. If I need care badly enough---( I don't think I will be the easiest pt )--forget the cards --PLEASE just take care of me !! I see no need whatsoever for this kind of CRAP. And let me be the one to give thanks to the ER staff !!
  10. Hope my nurse or MD would not use one--I would ask them to remove--to many germs Iwant them to:no: wash hands so -please do not use a cover!!!
  11. I have been nice not only with students but co-workers that are just hanging out in NS, They look at me like I have 2-heads. I have no idea where the instructor is--oh wait--she is there also -just chatting about eveything and anything (nothing much to do with nursing-yes I am there and I do hear it), Makes my job so confusing and harder than it needs to be most days.
  12. I have been in LTC for more than 35yrs. Students used to help and do care. Seems to me the last several years they are there to sit at the nurses station and , yes , get in the way. I have orders to take off , phone calls,family concerns, and of course the residents that have questions. Also order supplies for the unit and audits. AND I am only the Unit Clerk. The Charge Nurse on my unit is so busy , I truly some days don't see her often. And yes I do answer call bells when I can. PAPER WORK--well let me tell you there is a mountain of it and I think everyday there is a new piece to deal with, So if I get crabby with you and tell you to leave the nurses station, just know I have much to get done and the MD and PA are on their and they also need a place to sit and and work!! Yep, I am not always the most nice person but get out of the way and let me get the job done I am there to do.
  13. I work as a Ward Clerk in LTC. The amount of duties to be done on a 8-hour shift is something that is hard to believe let alone get done. The Nursing Staff NEVER stops, it one thing after another. And it is not getting any better. Even I'm thinking of looking for something else, the paperwork is unending and we keep getting more. When will it end?! I know the Nursing Staff in LTC and (I mean everyone from RN to LPN and CNA's )have a hard and never ending job. You just have to be there to understand.
  14. Just don't call me Ms. anything, I HATE that "title">
  15. Oh yes the handwriting, can make a Ward Clerk crazy!!
