  1. I have one on my lower back. None of my instructors have ever said anything about it. If you get them in places you can hide, it won't be unprofessional. No one is likely to see the one on your foot. If you get one on the back of your neck, it will show, and will look unprofessional in my opinion. Good luck making your decision.
  2. Just took NCLEX-PN yesterday and felt like I knew nothing I was reading in the questions. I know I know a lot and I'm very intellegent, but I felt like I got 4 answers correct. In my test I had 5 or 6 SATA's, Lots of priority and teaching, 1 calculation. I honestly don't know what to think. I feel miserable about ansering those questions, but when the computer turns off- initially I felt like What? That's it? I felt like I needed to answer more questions. But then out of nowhere, I could feel God's presents with me, and it was calm and peaceful, and I felt like I passed. So, I will just have to see tommorrow.:heartbeat:saint::heartbeat
  3. I know this is a little different, but I just went through nursing school pregnant and my instructor would not give me patients in isolation because of it. I think that was fair of her. She told me that if I was working on the floor already as a nurse that I would not be expected to handle those patients either. I think your job is being completely unsensitive. You are growing a little person inside your body and you shouldn't be around those bacterias and viruses. I would tell them to go to **** if they gave me a hard time about that. Def. get a note from the OB- Then nobody can say anything about it. That's your baby and it's your right to protect it. :heartbeat
  4. Hi everyone, I'm a new lpn nursing student. I will be finishing my 1st trimester of classes in two weeks, and I really enjoy it. I love what I'm learning and I enjoy going to clinical, but when I think about being a lpn, I can't imagine what the job is acually going to be like. Does anyone work in the hospital and/or a nursing home as an LPN that can tell me exactly what your day is like? I see what the cna's do, which is kinda what we've been doing too in clinical, and I see what the RN's do, and I know we can't do everything they do. So, I just really need a real persective on this job. My clinical teacher is a RN, and I think she forgets that we are LPN students sometimes. I think she teaches us things that the RN's do, and then we have to realise that we wouldn't acually be doing what she's explaining. Thanks!
  5. Don't worry, that thought was out of fustration. It's okay to get frazzled like that, with so much on your plate. The key thing was that you realized that your thought wasn't genuine. By the way, you are an amazing person... keep it up.
  6. your awesome!! I think you are a really good nurse and I look up to you!!
  7. Thank God she's not a nurse. I'm a student and I couldn't believe what I just read. I feel better now that I know that this person isn't someone I would be looking to for guidence. If we are sooo in the way anyways, hows about giving us more direction or pointers, tips, etc.. Get us out of the way NICELY.. We are there to learn and help. Thank you txspadequeen921, for having a real thought about this.
  8. Yes it is possible. - I'm doing it now in an LPN program. It is a little different for me though, because this program kind of gives a more basic overview, but I've done them both seperately in college for my pre-reqs toward my RN- and thinking back -- You can definantly do it -- Only if you're not working though. It is definantly a lot of studying!! Good luck-
  9. My first thought is that you were working yourself up to be worried for no reason- but after considering your question - it's really a matter of the actual program you are admitted into and how much time you are going to dedicate yourself to the school work. Just because you are a B student now - doen't mean you'll be a C student in nursing school. You will only be a C student in nursing school if you let yourself be a C student in nursing school -- It's up to you - not your past grades. Take a deep breath, relax. You can do it!
  10. Yeah,- I'm almost in that same boat with you. You may be able to take out a loan through the 2006 Collegiate Funding Services- through National City Bank 1-866-826-4706 or www.collegeloansite.com. I live in NJ- I don't know where the limitations of this service is. I got one of those pre-opproved offers in the mail. It does say, "no payments reqired until after graduation", so it may be worth a try. Good Luck
  11. This other aid deserves to be fired!! You are not over reacting AT ALL!! If I were you, I might try to subtly let the boss know what is really going on. This aid reminds me of one of those nurses who steal drugs that the patients need and then go through surgery feeling every cut and stitch. I understand that you wouldn't want to cause problems for this person , but just imagine this her taking care of your grandma or grandpa.. ya know?? Well - go luck no matter what decision you make. And definantly don't do any favors for this person if you continue to work with her.. Goood Luck!!
