  1. A few years ago I had an eldery female patient who when I was doing my initial assesment listening to her heart sounds Reached up and put her arm around my neck and pulled me down and kissed me on my cheek. An hour later just as I was entering the room she started yelling "he's going to rape me,he's going to rape me". All of my female colleagues loved it.
  2. I precepted several nurses in a level 2 trauma unit. My first statement to them was learn who the ones with experience are and use your charge nurse. Your preceptor should be willing to give you feed back on how you are progressing. Best wishes
  3. I was working at a piston manufacture as a moldmaker that was not doing well due to the economy. A good friend of my wife suggested I try nursing a RN herself. So at 45 I went back to school, graduated passed boards and went to work in a level 2 surgical trauma unit. Retired one year ago after 16 years of working with some of the best.
