Caseload for a Full time Case Manager
the hospice i work for we average 12-18 case loads, are required to see pt's once weekly unless symptoms require more visits, but there is an LPN to help out in some instances. Our on call is only $3/hr but you get $80/visit plus 50cents a mile and we offer an additional bonus for primary on call that will pay $225 per night that you take the primary position (which you also have 3 other nurses on with you at all times on call). i'm very happy with our company, very supportive from the top down or from the bottow up, whichever way you look at it. Everyone communicates really well with each other. Everyone helps each other out, even the Executive Director will take your calls anytime anyday, it's all about our patients and what we can do to best serve them and their families while they go through what will be remembered for the rest of their life. I've been w/ my company for about a year and believe me, i have my breakdowns (especially when you have 5-10 crisis happening at once) but at the end of the day I know i'm making a difference in someones life. Reading some of these other posts I'm realizing we might have it pretty good with our organization

Anatomy @ Macomb CC
i took it in the accelerated 6 weeks over the summer.....it's one of those memories your brain blocks out ....i really think it depends on the person, i found it to be alright because its crammed down your throat, lecture, lecture, exam...so it stays fresh, you eat, sleep, and breath a & p, but that worked well for me, some people prefer the longer coorifice. good luck

Are nurses changing careers in their mid forties?
hello ace, i'm 32 and in my 2nd semester of nursing school...not sure if i count for your article, i was a bartender, than an office manager for about 6 years, never finished college the first time around so kind of starting a little late, but better late than never right??!! i chose nursing because of the lives i hope to be a part of even for the short period, the job security is nice, every day will be different from the one before, and it's a career i can go anywhere with...the possibilities truly are endless.

Any tips for new MCC RN Students
Congrats inspire, i'm just finishing the 1500's and i so remeber what you're feeling, in fact, anyone ahead of us please fill us in on what to expect in 16 and 1700's. We went to the hospital today for the first time and i loved loved loved it, granted i still feel like i don't know anything, it was so interesting and i can't wait untill i really understand everything that's being said. Back to preparing, yeah it wouldn't hurt to grab your taylor book and look over just the nursing process....i wouldn't kill yourself with reading quite yet, enjoy your last few moments of not having to do it
