Has anyone left their employment due to mandatory vaccinations
While I can see that there are many people out there that feel the same way I do, no one has yet answered the question "If you have left, what and where did you go to work?". I am looking for advice about other jobs that build on nursing/EMS. I have a lot of time and education invested in the medical field and do not particularly want to start from scratch.

Has anyone left their employment due to mandatory vaccinations
I was wondering if any of my fellow nurses have left their place of employment because of mandated flu vaccination? If you have left, what and where did you go to work? I am very aware of the the statics for and and against the flu vaccine and do not have anything against voluntary vaccination, but I have great heartache about mandatory vaccincations. With that being said I am looking at changing careers even though I like what I do and was wondering what else is out there for a nurse that doesn't want the vaccine. Any personal experiences shared would be appreciated as well as options (other than getting the flu vaccine)

Do you correct your professor?
Plane and simple..YES. Everyone can make a mistake, sometimes through an opps and sometimes through ignorance. I good instructor will take it and research it and grow from it.

Things You'd Like To Tell Visitors . . . . and get away with it
If you don't know what the numbers mean on the cardiac monitor don't touch the "touch screen" to find out what it does. No you can not have a meal try for yourself 5 minutes after you get here and your "loved" hasn't even been examined yet for their shortness of breath!

Can any help me out with information about TNCC? I currently have ITLS, PALS, and ACLS. Is TNCC very different from these? For those that have taken the course did you find it beneficial in job performance improvement or obtaining a job. Thanks ion advance for your responses.

RN with EMS experience only
I understand completely. I taught an I/P class while I was going through the program. Needless to say the nursing classes were put on hold. I'm in Pasquotank county, Elizabeth City to be exact and our EMS service didn't have a night shift when I started nursing.

RN with EMS experience only
You can test out on CNA program in NC but not the LVN. Call any of the community colleges for the info on CNA testing. As for the expense it depends on how long it will take you to finish the program through EC. I can't comment on the "smarter" portion because I went through EC only. That is why I wonder if there is an advantage to traditional schools for the clinical component of nursing. I know it is do-able but it is hard to find places to gain experience with things like peritoneal dialysis and wound vacs. if you are in a rural area. Where in NC are you at?

RN with EMS experience only
I am looking for advice from anyone that has a paramedic background and obtained thier RN through Excelsior. How did you feel about starting in the work force as an RN with only having EMS experience? Did you encounter any problems that were unique to you and not other new graduate nurses from tradition schools? I am scared to death about starting a career in nursing.

CPNE ... What is so Horrific/Difficult about it ... ?
- On Line Microbiology
Excelsior's course is self study not on-line. The cousre wasn't too hard using cliff's notes to clarify the information. No lab portion just the one exam.- Most Difficult CPNE Skill...
For me it was the wording of care plans. Got me the first time around. But I learned that for my interventions I need to write what I "will" do, not what I did. - On Line Microbiology
