Am I Meant To Be A Nurse?
hi....here is my story, i was never meant to become a nurse and it all happened years ago (about 10 years before). I was desperate to find work and from where i came from, chances to work in whatever u always wanted to become is very slim and almost 'nada'. i signed up in the registrar to be trained for about 3.5 years and i got in...honestly, i had little knowledge about what nursing is and i am not an example type of person far more to be an overachiever. my knowledge about nursing was very low and of course we do have to learn something while i was in the college. luckily becoming a nurse in my place does not take alot of exams unlike other places. once ur graduated from nursing ..u apply for the job and got in interview and that's that reallly...but i know some guys might ask am i capable to work effectively? i might say 'yes' its not because we are knowledgeable but its because its human instinct. majority of nurses all around the world are just 'okay' (if u know what i mean)...what makes us hard is the policy that has been put to us..once u get through...your done! go live and work....neither of us likes any policy that has been put into our work but who am i to complain? am just like the other people hence, nurses.

8 Weeks of training does NOT make you a nurse!!
hi ....am not aware of this 8 weeks course then tell ppl that u are a nurse. in my country where i came from, there is a nursing course probably known to you as auxillary nurse or nurse assistant. it has been abolished several years ago but my country is lacking of local nurses, so, we are in desperate need for a nurse!! i am now undergoing A&E course as a post graduate student in our local college. i have been in the service for about 4 years specializing in out-patient clinic. some of the nurses need to take A&E course as out-patient clinics sometime handle emergency cases as well....it might be a bit awkward in other country but it quite common in my place...my most greatest challenge now is to enable me to manage cases like cardiac problem which i used to hate when i was a student nurse...but after 4 yrs working, am in desperate need to learn!! do reply me guys, i'd like to know what u have in your country....

Stupidest reason to go to ER
cases that i have encountered when i was in ER...to say a few; 1. i have pimple- how stupid is that? 2. waiting patients with cold cases e.g. fever, question me when he'll be seen by a doctor after waiting for few hours and at the same time there were several patients just arrived with a post road accident (severely)!!! - is he blind or something? 3. most annoying of all, patient with munchausen syndrome!!! they really make as if its so real that some time we happen to believe them! how hilarious.... the thing is, ER is still an ER, patients usually expect to be seen ASAP...but they didnt realise cases like MI, RTAs, multiple injuries patients etc should be there instead of the minor cases...they would never understand...
