  1. Hello, I am graduating in December :yelclap: with my BSN. I am thinking about moving to Jacksonville. I have been looking at Shands Jacksonville, b/c of it being a level 1 trauma center. I thought it would be a great experience for a new grad. I definately want to work in some type of critical care unit, but I am very interested in the Trauma unit.
  2. If Mrs. Mackenzie is still teaching there, she is really sweet. Mrs. Gargus is tough and can be intimidating, but you will know your stuff when you get out of her class. I had her for Patho, and I can still hear little things she said in class, in my head, as I am in my nursing classes.
  3. I haven't worked there, but quite a few of the nurses left Brookwood to go work there in some of there ICUs b/c they were going to make about $30/hr+...it was an offer they couldn't refuse.
  4. When I was a PCA, I was assisting the RN change a dressing or something. Anyway, you guys know how when you have gloves on or something nasty is on your gloves...your nose always starts to itch? Well, I proceeded to scratch my nose with the non-gloved part of my arm...apparently my mouth was opened at the same time...I tasted something salty, but didn't really think about it at the time. Next, I looked down at my glove and there was blood on the glove...UUUGGGHHH!!!!
