  1. It will definitely get better. I was stressed out and felt lost during my very first week of clinical in a primary care setting. I felt more comfortable as I watched and learned from my preceptor. I asked questions about things I wasn't sure about and my preceptor was glad to answer and clarify things. I soon became more comfortable and finally stared to enjoy it instead of being scared. best of luck to you Rameygurl!
  2. hi cayenne06! Thank you for your response! I will be seeing both OB and GYN patients. Wow sounds pretty amazing to work in women's health. Of course I did clinical rotations in obgyn but felt like I didn't get to see enough patients. A lot were very routine such as PAPs, normal OB patients without complications, contraceptive pills etc... It's great to hear that you love working in reproductive health!
  3. Hey everyone, I just recently took my AANP examination in October 2015 and have been offered a position working in an OBGYN office. I am a new FNP grad with no experience. Are there any OBGYN NPs who can give me some insight as to what their day consists of? I would love to hear from you guys! Thanks !
  4. thank you for the responses :) ... I'm glad to hear some positive feedbacks. I guess its expected to get the heavier or troublesome patients when you are a floater. But seems like overall, being a float nurse can be very interesting as well ..thanks!
  5. I have been seeing job posting for Resource RN float pool. What are your thoughts on it? For those who have or currently is a float nurse, do you like it? What do you like and dislike about it? Any info would be very helpful...Thanks guys!

Also besides the research papers, what about testing? Are we required to go to a location for testing on certain subjects? I think i read somewhere about a certain chemistry requirement ..I think biochem. I only did the general or intro to chem with lab that was required for our prereqs for the RN ..do u know anything about it? again thanks Cristy78 !!
  11. Hi christy78 I am glad to had read your post. I had just sent in all my transcripts to WGU but looking to start march 2011. I also work full time. I am interested for the RN-MSN, my concern was if I am unable to complete the whole course will they grant me the BSN if I had completed that along the MSN route but did not complete the MSN? Also how intense is the program? is it alot of research papers? I am worried because I work full time night shifts. Any information would help! thanks!

  15. Southern Cali schools deadline was the end of November 2009
  16. At LASC I had my clinical rotations at UCLA-Harbor, Kaiser Sunset, and Gardena Hospital ..good clinical experience ..My classmates that I graduated with ended up workin at UCLA Westood, USC,Torrance Memorial, and Huntington Hospital ..
  17. Hello, I am a Los Angeles Southwest College Rn graduate 2008 ..It was not my first choice school but the first to have accepted me. I applied to numerous schools. If you want to go to your first choice school then you might be sitting around waiting.People will always have something negative to say about nursing programs..unfair tests, bad teachers, unorganized etc..but it really depends on yourself. As long as you read and understand the material you will be fine. Southwest may not be in a good area but It sure made me an RN today. Understand that the pass rate for nclex reflect those who dont put 100% and probably who cheated their way throught the program. AND...hospitals dont hire based on which school you graduated from, as long as you have your license =) Hope that helps =)
  18. Hello RENEfromLA, I would still go ahead and attend LACC's nursing program. At this point you should def. take the offer..do you know how many people are desperate to even get accepted to any school? ..There are always going to be someone saying something bad about teachers, the way they teach, how unfair the tests are, but listening to all rumors make u doubt alot! ..Being successful all depends on yourself..I know you have your heart set on certain schools, but u could end up waiting forever ..IMO I would accept LACC ...
  19. Hello, I know this thread was started for the A-BSN ...but I wanted to know how hard the program is for the RN-BSN program. I already have my license and wanted to go for my BSN at CSUN as a fulltime student. Do you think working and school is possible? Thanks! Any info would be appreciated...
