  1. I know it, I just need to be able to apply it. I have resources and I keep a book of everything I have questions about. I guess the lack of guidance is making it difficult. I've trained so many RNs along the way and I know what works, this doesn't.
  2. Specifically, my preceptor also has a PA student who is getting ready to graduate and is far more advanced (rightfully so) than I am. The PA student is cold and ignores me. My preceptor expected me to be able to do what she does on my first day which didn't happen for obvious reasons. I hate to complain but the setup isn't appropriate because for the first couple of weeks, you need one to one training. I have trained so many nurses in the past and that's how success occurs. Hopefully, I can get past this as I am ready to quit my program.
  3. Thank you...I hope this gets better.
  4. I have been a nurse for 13 years and the past 7 I have worked in endoscopy in procedure rooms.
  5. I am currently more than halfway in the FNP program at Kaplan University. I have had zero issues. I just started my primary care clinical this week and aside from feeling like a fish out of water, I believe if you are willing to put some time into your education and are very disciplined, you will do fine at this school. With that being said, you do have to find your own preceptors for clinicals but if you have a good group of professional 'friends' it should be easy to do. Good luck!
  6. My clinical is about 10 minutes away from my house, which is amazing but at the end of the day, I feel exhausted as well. I think it's because we are thinking and learning so much that our brains just want to shut down. As of right now, I am physically and mentally done!!! Good luck, you are not alone!
  7. Hi Everyone! I am a nurse practitioner student and just started my first clinical rotation in Primary Care this week. Tonight, I am very discouraged and feeling frustrated with myself. This week, I felt completely out of my element and blanked on close to everything. Does this ever get better???? Has anyone else felt like this???
