license by endorsement from CA to another state
yes, we just have to reapply and resend application forms/docs + fingerprint cards + SSN. =) but most of us who have expiring files in CA still applied to other states for a license, just in case hehe

license by endorsement from CA to another state
I emailed ****** asking if I have to retake the NCLEX-RN exam in case my file has been destroyed/abandoned before I'd been able to apply/transfer the results to another state. Here's her reply: In response to your email, the following information is provided: As of April 26, 2010, the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) no longer accepts applications that do not contain a valid U.S. Social Security Number (SSN). The California Nursing Practice Act provides for a unified examination and licensing application. Once an applicant passes the examination, a license is automatically issued. Under these circumstances, the BRN cannot accept applications for the examination and licensure, without a valid U.S. Social Security Number. Prior to April 26, 2010, once an applicant passed the NCLEX-RN examination, the applicant was allowed a three-year time period to submit a valid SSN. After that time period had elapsed, the file was considered abandoned and the file was destroyed. Additionally, an applicant was also allowed to request an extension on the file Abandonment Date. This was done as a courtesy to the applicant. As of April 26, 2010, the BRN will no longer grant an extension on the file abandonment date. An applicant, who has passed the NCLEX-RN exam and is affected by file abandonment and file destruction, still has the following options: - Once the valid U.S. Social Security Number is obtained, the applicant may re-apply to the BRN. Currently, the applicant will not have to retest, because even though the file is abandoned and destroyed, the NCLEX-RN test result is still valid. Once the Board receives all the requirements (APPLICATION FOR LICENSURE BY EXAMINATION; transcript from school; the fingerprint clearance and a valid U.S. SSN) we needed; the CA RN license will be issued. - An applicant may request that the California NCLEX-RN test result (NCLEX-RN CANDIDATE REPORT with your picture) be provided to any U.S. jurisdiction; if the applicant wishes to apply to a jurisdiction that does not require the SSN for licensure (There is a $10 fee that must be included with a test result NCLEX-RN CANDIDATE REPORT request). Also, the BRN will certify the applicant’s California NCLEX-RN test results (there is a $60 fee that must be included with the verification request). The applicant must contact other U.S. jurisdictions to inquire as to each jurisdiction’s licensure requirements. For a list of U.S. jurisdictions, please visit the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) official Web site at: NCSBN and access the contact information under Boards of Nursing. - To assist an applicant who is requesting a VisaScreen® certificate from the International Commission on Healthcare Professions (ICHP), the BRN will certify the applicant’s California NCLEX-RN test results (there is a $60 fee that must be included with the certification request). Information related to the VisaScreen® certificate requirements may be found on the International Commission on Healthcare Professions official Web site at: CGFNS International We hope this information has been of assistance to you. If you require further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact the Board. Sincerely, ***** Licensing Program CA Board of Registered Nursing

licensure by examination to IL w/ pass letter from cali + visa screen cert
I called up Division of Professional Regulation just a while ago regarding this. The guy who answered said they don't have a method of application for applicants who have already passed the exam in another state. I tried talking to another representative and she said I have to take the nclex exam AGAIN because acceptance of examination does not include nurses. I'm getting more confused. what to do, what to do... Is there anyone who has ACTUALLY tried applying to IL from CA? anyone? pls?

licensure by examination to IL w/ pass letter from cali + visa screen cert
Good day everyone! I have a pass letter from Cali and a visa screen certificate. The Cali BON didn't grant an extension of the abandonment date of my NCLEX-RN examination and licensure file since as of Apr 2010, they now require SSN. My file will be considered abandoned as of this November. Plan B would be to apply to another BON. Since my employer is in IL, I might as well apply there, right? (and please, no more comments about why didn't you apply to IL for initial licensure in the first place?) I've read in previous threads that you cannot endorse to another BON if you don't have an ACTUAL license. So I went to the IL BON website and downloaded the application for examination packet. Read the entire thing and figured, ok, I can: 1) use my visa screen in lieu of CES/TOEFL requirement; 2) verify original licensure + forward copy of test results from CA to IL ($60 + $10) 3) verify license from PRC My question is on the application fee. Do I pay only $88 (CTS)? $200(NCSBN)? $288(CTS + NCSBN)? Thank you in advance for those who can clarify :)

any idea how to forward my nclex result to cgfns?
they did say my file won't be reviewed unless everything was received (payment, prc, bon, transcripts, ielts/tse) plus application expires after one year =) what happened was i requested validation beforehand and made an online account. the order status listed every correspondence...that's how i learned the validation requests from each agency/school was received by ichp and that an ID card has been mailed to my address... just sharing my experience :heartbeat

call your BON to check if your results have been sent/mailed already... my friend called her BON after 6 weeks because she was the only one in our group who has not received any letter, they told her results were already sent and that it says in her file rhat she only needed to pass her ssn in order to get her license (meaning she passed, they wouldn't tell you directly that)...she still hasn't received her letter ...we took the exam oct 2007...phil postal service at its best hehe

Nclex Poll For Filipino Takers/passers
took the exam 0ct 18 at trident tower how many questions you had on your exam? 126...or more i think hehehe that was the question # that stuck to my mind but i wasn't sure if it was the last question what did you use as a review material? saunders 3e, saunders strategies for success, ncsbn online, drexel, mosbyenrolled in a review center or home study? dynalink review center then home study(mostly computer drills) 1 month before the exampercentage of topics youre very familiar with on the actual nclex questions? around 85%. what did you feel after you finished your exam? disappointed > i expect to stop at 75 because questions #70-75 were mostly innovative questions (select all that apply, diagram/illustration), when it didn't stop at 75 my confidence lessened. depressed > i really thought i was gonna fail. i was in a trance-like state. after 4 weeks, a small envelope from ca brn notifying me that i passed *huge grin*

CA NCLEX without SSN, can we really ask for an extension to the BON?
just in case... what state BON would you suggest foreign nurses w/o SSN who passed the CA nclex-rn apply to as fallback/second choice? the ones where renewal does not require SSN or other requirements like minimum hrs of RN experience, etc? much love :balloons: and happy new year!

transfer of NCLEXresult
so so true ms. suzanne! some agencies here in the philippines are providing wrong information under the guise that they were told by an "immigration lawyer" that there is little hope for nclex passers who applied under CA BRN because they would have to retake the exam again if they cannot provide a SSN within 3 years. i've been telling friends and classmates who panicked because of this info about your advice (renewing application and NOT retaking nclex). problem is some of them do not believe me because the weight of an "immigration lawyer's" advice is heavier than a simple explanation derived from an internet nursing forum hehehe i emailed the CA BRN about this but still no response yet as for me, i'm believing your advice/explanation... thanks you ms. suzanne for your valuable inputs here in the forum!
