I know when I was looking into schools for my RN-BSN. A lot of schools required me to have my RN license before they would even give me the time of day. I was wanting to get more information and get applications while I finished my senior year for my associate degree. Out of the 2 schools I was seriously considering one required you have one year of RN experience before applying to the program. My plan for that school was to work on my pre-reqs. while working for that year. I did end up deciding to attend the school that did not require me to have RN experience. But I did have to have my RN license.
I am starting my RN-BSN program at Upper Iowa University in Fayette in 2 weeks. I was going to go through University of Iowa until Upper Iowa Started their program, it's closer to home and we have class at Fayette one night a week so I get in class time, which I really enjoy more then the online classes.
Hi, in my LPN year we focused on what to do, on the RN level you focus on why you do it. We had an actual Transition to RN role class when we focused on critically thinking and delegation. In my RN classes we focused on the pathophysiology. They have you thinking in more of a charge nurse position in the RN classes.
When I did my annotated bibs for comp OB this last semester, I tried finding good articles that were free as well, but I had no luck. I think I ended up paying around $7.00 per article at nursingcenter.com. Good luck if you do find any that are free, otherwise nursingcenter is a good source.
