Hi, i'm a nursing student in Seattle. A few years back I worked for a cruise ship and we had a husband and wife nurse doctor team aboard. Their stateroom was included as well as all meals plus the daytime travel excursions. During one cruise, the only serious patient care I witnessed the doctor and/or nurse performing was checking a passenger for chest pains. Although, worse things can happen when the ship is out at sea and land is a couple of days away. I worked for a smaller cruise ship company out of Seattle, not the large Norweigan-type cruise ships. Overall, it looked like a great job to have, certainly better than the one I had (cleaning rooms). LoL!
  2. Hi, i'm a nursing student in seattle and have lived here for over 10 years. The problem with staying in an RV is the RV places are very far out of town either north or south. Auburn, Federal Way, Kent and Renton have quite a few but then your commute is going to take at least an hour to the city. There is not alot of choice within the city limits, if any at all. Seattle does have an excellent bus system, and depending on where you end up, you might be able to take advantage of sound transit and ride the train into town. You would have to catch a bus from the train station up to Swedish though. If it was me I would try to find a small studio for rent in the capital hill neighborhood! Good luck and enjoy beautiful Seattle (if you like to take walks go visit Discovery Park in Magnolia!!)

I'm a nursing student in Seattle. I have had terrible back pain for years due to scoliosis and the one "miracle" cure I discovered was a form of yoga called Ashtanga. My back pain literally disappeared after 3 weeks of practicing 3 to 4 days per week. Good luck!
  4. Hi, I'm a BSN student who is considering joining the military after graduation. I'm a little older (will be 34 when I graduate) which do you suggest, active or reserve or should I try to work at the VA? Honestly, I'm a bit nervous at the thought of joining the army nursing corp and being deployed to Iraq. Thanks!
