  1. Hi Lorance, I have just applied to CGFNS to do my CES for NMBON. I would like to endorce to CA, with NM being the state of my initial licence, would I still be able to endore? or will it now be more complicated.
  2. Hi Silverdragon, how does the retrogression affect brithish born nurses? gods
  3. Hello Lawrance, I wrote to Sabrina at the NM BON, asking her if GCFNS sent a copy of the CES to the BON. She replied "no they will need to go back to you and you will submit a complete packet to the board" That sounds to me they will accept a copy of the CES report coming from myself. I will have to wait before I submit my application to the BON. What do you think. I have requested eveything and submitted my application and fee now to CGFNS. kind regards gods
  4. Hello Lawrance, I have read your thread regarding the new requirments set by NM BON. Lawrance, when applying for credential evaluation by CGFNS, they require all of your primary and secondary school education. It was a long time since I was at primary and secondary school, I am not sure if I could retrieve that information. What would you suggest I do? I ave requested my transcript from my nursing school and they have been sent off. I will be posting my application to CGFNS along with the fees tomorrow. Kind regards gods
  5. Hi Suzanne, I will send my application, if anything is not right I am sure they will let me know. It is the Board Of New Mexico that I am applying to. I am sure my transcripts will be fine, NM evaluated them last year and they where fine. I know it is the evaluation agency that do it now and so I know it will be up to CGFNS to pass it. Thank you Suzanne gods
  6. Hi Suzanne, sorry for not understanding all the bureaucracy, but I am still extremely confused. This morning I received my fingerprint cards from the BON, the accompanying letter stated by the BON said........ "Applications which do not include all information needed for licensure, including educational/transcript evaluation, will be considered incomplete and returned. We will not accept applications that do not include all information" As you said Suzanne, CGFNS will send a copy of the CES to the BON. So do I only submit the application to the BON with correct fees or do I wait for a copy of the evaluated transcript from CGFNS before sending my application. :icon_roll Kind regards gods
  7. Hi Suzanne, when my school of nursing send my transcripts and the nmc send validation of my registation/licence to cgfns, once they have been evaluated do cgfns send my documents to the bon or do they send them back to me? Am I responsible for submitting all required documentation to the baord of nursing as one compleat packet? or do documents arrive to the bon at varieing stages. kind regards gods

Well what can I say, my 12yr old has finally come round to the idear of living in the states. My eldest who is 13yrs old is still adiment that he his not going. Today I have just got my fingerprints done, I said this to my eldest son, he just glared at me. Maybe has things progress he will start to accept it. I hope so.
  10. Hi I e-mailed NM BON explaining that my nursing school had sent my transcript, but I recieved no reply. So I e-mailed them again and I still got no reply. I think I shall try one last time before sending my application and fees.
  11. I to have been waiting to hear from nm, as my school of nursing had sent my transcript off about eight weeks ago. I thought I had to wait to see if I meet boad requirement before submitting my application, payment and fingerprint cards and then on receipt of the latter they would then sent me my ATT. Its all alittle confusing. But I think Ive got it now. However Im still glad that Im doing this myself and not with an agency. At least I can ask for help. regards gods
  12. Hi can anyone tell me, did you request for your university to send your transcrips of before sending your fingerprint cards off. Regards Gods
  13. Hi, I was woundering, do I have to request the fingerprint cards from the BON, or will they just send them to me when they recieve my application form. Regards Gods

Thanks Madwife, I feel much happier that he can stop in school untill he is 18yrs old. It will also help him to settle in faster and make friends. He feels right now that were going to ruin his life. I know that its normal for him to think this way but keeping him informed will help the transition. He's a bright boy. Football is one of his greatest loves, he keeps saying no one plays football in America, I shall give him the great news regading this fact right away. Thanks again Regard Gods

Thanks for the information Mini2RN, I now understand a little more about your school system in America. I hope I dont mess up my kids education. Im hoping that we will make it to the states by at least January 2008, My eldest son will then be nearly 15yrs old, at the monent he is 13yrs old and will be 14yrs old in Febuary 2007. SO what year will he enter school at? will he be able to stay on after he is 16. What age do they start university. Our school system is that compulsary education ends at 16yrs old , they can then go on to a 6th form college untill they are 18yrs old. If they pass there exams they can go on to a university to do a 3-4year degree. Thanks again regards Gods

Hi Geena, Today we have been doing are research on going it alone, and already we have descovered quite alot of information. Your right it's not as complicated as we first thought it would be. We are just abit confused though about the fingerprinting, do we obtain that from our local police station? Still have alot to read through and lots of application forms to fill in. What part of California do you live and work in? We would like to relocate in the san dieago county, maybe Carlsbad or Oceanside. Other areas we would have to look thenm up. Accomodation and schools would play a big part in where we settle. Thank again for your help and for highlighting the do it youself option. Kind regard gods
  19. My husband is a qualified teacher in religious studies, he is also a research student doing his Phd. He is hoping to transfer his research to a uni in the states. Hopfully he will make some contacks and get some hours teaching or something. Other than that for the monent he will have to stop at home and sort the kids out, taking then to school ect. Regards Gods.

Hi Geena, We haven't researched the do it youself avenue. My husband and I discussed it and we thought it would be safer to go with an agency. Would it not be complicated doing it yourself? Regards Gods

Thanks everyone for your replies. Some good suggestions and it is also nice to know that what my kids are complaining about is quite normal. Im sure as time goes on there will continue to be mixed feelings about living in another country for both the boys and ourselfs. Corresponding with the school system I thougut was a really good idear and playing up the positive points. Today I mentioned the vaccinations, that went down ok. I would like to start a journal of this journy that we are about to enbark on, so that I may also be of help in the futher to others, and that I can share it with you all. I have been reading some of your journals and they inspire me all the more. Thanks again Regards Gods
