oh Alegent does have major issues, especially Immanuel. i'm not a nurse and quite frankly the nurses in the MAC department at Immanuel are a complete embarrassment to the nursing profession. they clearly are putting patient safety at the bottom of their list.

i did my EMT-B & I training back in 1998 and my license is no longer active. i didn't take Phlebotomy classes because they trained me on the job to do it since i already knew how to start an IV. if i decide to go into nursing, then the CNA course is required at the college where i'm taking it.

i can't really answer your question per se but just wanted to say that i start my CNA class next Wednesday. my background is in allied health as an EMT and then a Phlebotomist. i also have a degree in healthcare management that's getting me nowhere, that's why i'm doing the CNA class and then possibly Nursing. still on the fence about it. i wish you good luck and you'll do fine.

i haven't had a flu shot in years and haven't been sick with the flu since the early 90s. i don't believe in the flu shot. i see a chiropractor regularly and never get sick.

so at the age of 37, almost 38, should one bother going to Nursing School????

i just signed up for a CNA program today that starts oct. 25th. i'm a little nervous but i've had experience in the healthcare field as an EMT-B and Phlebotomist. i too have a useless degree at this point but i know it will be worth "gold" should i decide to pursue nursing. glad to see a lot of cna's as well as some of us older one's returning to school.
