  1. I just know it was a life saver for me to have those places right there handy for me when my daughter stayed at Vanderbuilt. I would have to sneak away to begin with to run down and get me something and even then she would get really upset, so it would have been immpossible for me to leave the building period. She wasnt able to eat so it would have just been wrong to do it in front of her.
  2. In my facility no one goes with the Dr's. They come in, ask for the chart, make their rounds and let us know if they have any new orders.
  3. I dont think the Pulaski classes meet in Columbia anymore. I think they only ones that do are through Hohenwald. We were in a lot safer location it sounds like!! One class met over by the hospital and our class met in part of the career center in Northway Shopping center.
  4. I was just at Columbia State a little over a year ago before I started the LPN program through the Tech center and they didnt have one then. I think a lot of ppl are getting the Tech center confused with CSCC because even though the Tech center is in Hohenwald our classes were in Columbia.
  5. I live in Middle TN and where I work RN's are starting out at 25/hr straight out of school
  6. Im a nurse and only 21. I know there are a lot of young nurses that tend to be lazy but where I work we have a lot of older ones that are lazier then the young ones. The older ones feel that they shouldnt have to do anything and put it all off on us younger ones. As for call lights and such, our techs generally get them but if we know, or at least if I know, that they are tied up in a room I'll go answer the light. Im not one of those that will walk right past a light or if I go into the room its not just to see what they want so I can tell the tech. If they need something I do it. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I teched a couple years before I became a nurse so I know how it feels.
  7. I went to the Techology program through Hohenwald but our classroom was in Columbia. Theres really not a lot of places to work as LPNs in Columbia besides the LTC facilities. Some doctors offices hire LPNs but as far as a hospital Maury Regional is phasing out a lot of their LPNs. The only LPNs left mostly work in the Peds clinic or the ACC.
  8. I never knew columbia state had a lpn program. The wait list for the rn program is very long. Where I work though, they put me through LPN school and if I choose I can go through the RN program through them and not have to wait on a list.
  9. I live in columbia and did my LPN program here in town. It was through hohenwald technology center but their classrooms are in columbia.
  10. I PASSED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :balloons: :balloons: :balloons: :lol2:
  11. I took my NCLEX-PN a week ago. It cut off at 85 and I mostly had priority questions with a few check all that apply. I've been reading that it may be a good sign? Can someone please elaborate on that one for me?! Im scared to death because I had several pharm questions that I didnt know at all. I hopefully find out tomorrow what my results are. I live in TN so we dont have the quick results option. Im so scared!!!!!
