  1. I am on the waitlist at moorpark and it is 1.5 years.
  2. there is an accelerated bsn program at SJSU if you already have a BA or BS. It is 18 mos long I believe AND you must sign a contract to work at their affiliated hospital for almost 2 years. But- the program costs very little due to this commitment- look into it.
  3. Is it true COC will be opening a new campus in the SF valley? Anybody know when?
  4. My son is 4 and is uncirced- he has never had a problem. But I also was not yanking back the foreskin on him when he was a baby.
  5. Also- it truly is cosmetic surgery being performed on a newborn- how ridiculous is that?
  6. What is this program? I thought USC no longer had a nursing program.
  7. wow Halinja- only 23$ hour??? where are you?
  8. thousand oaks is a great area for kids. they have award winning schools. I also think it has the lowest crime rate in the country? or at least for a couple years it did. in general, it is a so cal suburbia- but relatively close to beaches. a good area. houses are expensive- but all of socal semi-close to ocean is.
  9. orange county has already boomed. it is waaaay expensive there. that is not to say real estate will suffer too much there- it is a very desirable area with a strong economy.
  10. hey Lizz- where do you live? We plan to move to a small town in the sierra foothills in the next few years. Although home prices are up- our home here in LA county has appreciated an amazing amount since 99 and we plan to cash out and buy a home free and clear. I really am a small town girl at heart and never planned to live in LA this long.
  11. I have to agree with Mimi- the great thing about california is the diversity- not only culturally but geographically. We have the ocean, the desert, valleys, mountains- ocean ranges and the sierra nevada- and other smaller inland mountain ranges , too. It is like another country. I live in the LA area- and although I'm not wild about it here- I love northern California and am looking forward to making that transition one day.

    what is it?
  13. Is it state law that you earn time and 1/2 after eight hours? I know several nurses in different counties who state this is true. No matter how many shifts in one week do you earn time and 1/2 from hours 8-12 on a twelve hour shift? Thanks.
  14. I am still in school and my husband works in the film business- so that is why we are here. For the original poster- is the job in Beverly Hills something really special? It is just that the housing is so expensive there. And I don't think you'd be happy commuting to that location. Why not consider a job in the valley or Ventura county? Do you have kids? Areas in Ventura county- or on the edge- ie Agoura- are much better areas for children, IMHO.
  15. i live here and can't wait to leave. yes it is beautiful and the weather is great- but there are way too many people. and what good is great weather if the air is toxic?
