  1. Hello, I am a RN of almost 2 years in January. I currently work on a Cardiac Telemetry Floor/Intermediate care unit, so i work with different drips: nitro, dopamine, primacor, dobutamine, etc. During my internship I feel as if i wasn't really oriented the way i should have but i realize it is up to me to gain the knowledge that is needed bc this is my license on the line. Does any one know of any books that help with explaining cardiac medications, what when and how they are used in easy to comprehend language? I am trying to get a really good knowledge base of the basics and grow from there? How about any really good cardiac books explaining how these medications act on the heart, any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!

  18. i can understand how you feel!! I have to schedule an interview with vanderbilt for the nurse residency program; and i am so nervous about it also.....could some please help me out
  19. For everyone who stated that once you've passed board you will be considered a nurse and not a nurse who made C's during school--i do totally agree to that but the thing is i want to pursue my education further. Right now i am in a diploma RN program after graduating i am going on to get my BSN, and after i've had my 2 years exp. i am serously thinking about going back to school and become a CRNA. Do your grades count as far as being accepted into these programs? Isn't there a mass amount of competition trying to get in? Do they not consider your grades as a factor?
  20. thank you.
  21. Thank you all for your replies, i will take everything you've said into consideration.( I will rest this summer ) Where can i purchase the olympus digital recorder from? How much do they cost and can i save the lectures to my computer?
  22. I will start med-surg in july and i was wondering how did you begin to study for it. i here it is very difficult and i want to be prepared for it. Can you give me a couple of pointers on how to study for med-surg?
  23. I am a 25 yr. old nursing student in a diploma program, i finally finished by first year! I have been average in my studies, 85% but i want to do better and i have the desire to do better but i do not know where to really to begin. The next semester starting in July is suppose to be very difficult (MEDSURG) A I want to be better than an 85% student. I have bought a study guide to go along with my med-surg book and i plan on working thru it this summer before classes start (is it to soon?) I want to be the best i can possibly be throughout the rest of this program. Can anyone give me any pointers to finish out this program!!!!!
