Am I the only one having problems finding a pair of underwear that does not show when I bend over a patient or ones that don't leave a major panty line? What kinds of panties work with scrubs?

my nursing class has so many problems we are in the first semester and have just started in june. today the director of nursing came to talk to the whole class about a student in our class that is feeling that the study groups in our class are making him feel left out and then she announced that we have some gender issues so of course we questioned what she meant she said one of the students in our class is transgender and feels we are making fun of him. for 1 no one in the class knew he was actually a she undergoing hormone treatments so we were shocked, not that we have a problem with it we just think there may be a ethical issue for the patients in clinicals who are under the belief that they are being cared for by a male nurse. anyway the problem is we feel like kids in highschool since when do we get in trouble for belonging to studygroups? has anyone else in nursing school ever been treated like this the whole class doesnt know how to cope

The only reason I can think of a reason to require makeup is maybe to cover up pimples no patient wants to be taken care of by a nurse with huge red zits!! Just an assumption

the lovelace rep that came by to talk to us in class was with recruitment but thats all the info I have here at home I will try to get his number on monday. i think your wife may have to have her financial aid and admission packet complete before lovelace will allow a signed contract with them but im not sure either way lovelace will only give 5,000 per semester once the semester has begun and that has a cap of 10,000 per year! Apollo does have some different loan programs that may help!

I would take the chem first because from what I remeber about micro it used a few of the chem principles!

Its every man/woman for themselves I would rather have an uncaring professor than an overcaring professor that was alwaysa watching my back!! Ive also had an overcaring A&P professor that asked me out!

Apollo will not hamper her ability to obtain her BSN they are currently seeking accredidation from the NLNAC however they have to have a nursing program already running in order to recieve that accreditation approval! i have talked with UNM and they are currently working on a program to accept students from apollo into their RN to BSN program, and apollo college already has written agreement with several schools such as university of phoenix and a colleges in other states. Also the apollo college of nursing just recieved their accreditation in phoenix so albuquerque shouldnt be to far behind! Hope this helps I choose to go to apollo and have already been offered 20,000.00 in schlorship money from lovelace where I would have to sign on for 6 months for every 5,000.00 I recieve I plan to use that money to offset the cost of tuition. So far the program is excellent great instructors and a brand new facility on menaul PM me with any questions you have!

If you do decide to go I would be very careful I have a friend that attended medical school on the same island and he said there is a large gang crime population he was robbed several times traveling from his apartment to school which he explained was just across the street! he ended up leaving school after they broke his hip with a baseball bat in his 3rd week there! If I were you I would really check everything out before you sign on.

I gave up on studying this semester and got a C+ very stupid the class would have been much easier had I done the homework! Good thing I got into nursing school! Have Fun and just do the homework!

What kind of job is that for! Running to the gym scared!

That I would care about! Its amazing the things that people will do just to get lucky! I personally find it much more appealing to refrain from the urges of public lovin, but to each their own!!

Im not above performing personal care however I think it does somewhat distract the patients view of our ability to asses, and assist in their care plans. if a patient sees us changing their briefs and then admin IVs they tend to doubt our ability

I agree I too could care less who is doing anything with anyone as long as its keppt out of my face im fine. However this policy has people viewing nurses as the cause how does admin know its not the MD's fault?

I agree we all feel like the nurses are now being looked at as the instigators! If its aimed at us because of a few workplace relationships gone wrong between RN's and MD's then why not institute a policy addressing all workplace relationships! You can be sure the MD's are not being addressed and accused as the nurses are! Im not sure that we can claim sexual harrasment due to the fact that we have several male nurses and female MD's on staff.

Had a 22 wk gestation witth cramping and bleeding 1 week beloow the cutoff for our ld triage refused to go down to ER because an ex boyfriend worked in housekeeping she left AMA and drove 45 minutes to another ER in 5 oclock traffic which likely doubled her ETA. i have no idea what goes on in these pts minds!

The way it was tentatively explained by a NM is that it applies directly to the nurses im not sure about the MD's consequences.

Very important to size up because the part around the top of your foot does not stretch as much as needed for a comfortable fit!

i have heard the hospital I work for is instituting a specific no tolerance policy for nurses dating doctors within the same departments etc. Im just wondering if there are other policies like this in other hospitals specifically aimed at nurses and MDs? I havent seen this in writing yet but I personally feel the policy should include every employee? Anyone heard of this?

A&PII was definetly more difficult you have to learn about the blood and then go from system to system there is no more just memorizing body parts! I wish you luck!

I think its great advice on keeping the emails! He replied to my email this morning and seemed ok with me saying no to his offer, however he did include his cell phone # and told me if I needed anything at all over the summer he would be available!

Im just wondering if anyone has a standard practice of changing their scrubs before going home? Or if changing clothes would help with germ transfer?
