  1. BUCFAN well i was in your shoes. i worked for a very large company making about 60K a year repairing steam boilers and refrigeration units. but i was bored and wanted a change in careers. i had the itch to become a RN so i took night classes to apply to RN school and was accepted. i finished and graduated 2 weeks ago. i was hired before i even finished school at the local hospital making 10K more than my last career. so if i was you, go for it, i would target your RN not LVN of you can. the road will look long, the jurney will be difficult, and it might seem endless. but i you can do it and when it is over, you will be so thankfull that you did. i know i am. good luck!!
  2. Hello I would like to ask all of you a few questions. I completed a two year RN school last week and did quit well, but I plan to continue to get my BS and even my Masters. Personality wise, I am bit shy and introverted. About the only question I do not look forward too and hope I do not get asked is, "Tell me about your self". So for you Managers who performs interview; what would the interviewer look for in an answer, how would you answer? thank you inadvance
  3. i have bilateral hearing loss from the military. as for my sethoscope, i have to position it just right. but it has not held me back at all.
  4. Hello every one this is my first post. I am currently enrolled in a AND and will finish in Dec with a AND. I love this field and I cannot wait to get working as a nurse. I also want to go on and get my BSN as soon as possible. So I have a question for those who are managers who hire nurses. My question is: would the university that you received your BSN matter? I am referring to a State university such as University of California or a privet university such as University of Phoenix? The reason I ask this is because I worked 9 years for Corporate America and I sat in on resume reviews and a lot of managers tossed resumes of people who attended privet universities such as University of Phoenix. There rational was "you buy that degree, the curriculum is based on the number of students passing vs. the learning compared to State universities". I know I might be opening a can of worms here, but I have been told that by many business managers and engineers during my career in Corporate America. I looked into both programs and I am leaning more on University of Phoenix d/t their campus is in my own city. I would just like some thoughts. Well thank you for reading this and you all have a great forum, I been lurking and finally posted.
