MystyqueOne- I already have 3 lawyers involved. So, we are in processed to sue them. I just want to find any nursing schools that will accept me without going through it again.

Wow! I have not been on here for about 2 years. I thought to get a break from it because of depression. I was in nursing school in Springfield, Missouri, but they dismissed me out of the nursing(RN) program. The reason they kicked me out was because I am deaf even though I passed my clinical and classes. Any suggestions? Thanks! Jessica

Hello everyone!! I have not been on here very much. I am not a nursing student anymore. I passed nursing classes and clinical. Stupid nursing school dismissed me last Jan. from the ASN program because I am hard of hearing/deaf. SO WHAT!!! I told them that there are deaf nurses out there. They seemed they were not interested. :madface::madface:GRRRR STUPID College. So, now I have a lawyer involved. They are going to get their butt kick!!!!!! God bless, Jessica

I just need some advices from you. I do not know what to do because of the President of Nursing school:madface: do not believe i should be a nurse because of the safety. Can you help me? I am in nursing program. I thought i could talk to you because you are deaf and you are RN in OR. I am very impressed. They think i can be LPN, but i do not want to be LPN. I want to be a RN. I know they asking me stupid questions about how can i hear.. blah blah blah.. I am tired of it.. i can not defend myself. I will appreciated for you to tell me what i need to do to prove to them. I have done much of researches and could not find anything to prove to them. If you dont want to help me, please tell me so i wont bother to send you a message again. This is my first semester in nursing. I have thought about having 2nd child. My daughter turned 2 last friday. I can't believe she had grown. I won't be able to finish school in spring of 09. It is very hard for me to wait that long. I do believe that I should wait until i am finish with nursing school, so i don't have to deal with more stresses that i have now.

Hello Wyoming people!! I was orignally from Rock Springs, Wy. Since i was 11 years old i moved to missouri because of the divorced. I have thought about moving to Wyoming after I finish with RN program. My husband and I went to Wyoming last summer for vacation and I really miss it. We would like to move, but I am afraid for them not to hired me because i am Hard of hearing. Do you think they will hired me with no trouble?? Thanks, Jessica

Do you use hearing aids with your stethoscope? I wear hearing aids. I used the E- scope, it is ok but it is hard to hear when there are so many noises from anywhere. Thanks, jessica

Wow! I am very glad that I am not alone on here. This week is my third week. It is soooooo overwhelmed and i want to scream. I am not very good with papers and critical thinking. I really want to be a nurse. There are some times that I want to give up. My favorite is lab because of hand-on. I will be going to clinical in 3 weeks. Any suggestion? Jessica

hello Marive, My name is jessica. I am hard of hearing since I was 3 years old. I just got in nursing program this fall. I would be happy to chat with you sometimes. It is nice to know that i am not alone here. :) I know some sign language(ASL and English) and still learning. I depend on interpreters for my nursing classes. I am wearing both hearing aids. I always hate ppl that would say "Can you HEAR ME!" right at my face. Yes, please talk to me as like a other normal person and i will let you know if i dont understand or hear you clearly. While i am in school almost everyone knows me, they treat me normal like others. I feel like I am special;). Of course, I am normal and I just have hearing losses. So, all i have to do is to do my best! Jess123, just do your best!! NOTHING will hold you back!! Being deaf or HOH is just hearing losses. If you fail, then you need to learn it and TRY AGAIN until you make successfuls. God bless, jessica

Thanks for advices. I am sorry that I didn't tell you how much hearing loss i have. I'm hard of hearing(severe) bilaterally since I was 3 years old due of severe ear infections. I used my hearing aids since i was 3 years old. I just got the E scope by the help of Vocational Rehabilitation, which it helped a lot. I could not be able to afford the special equipments if i need anything for me to become a nurse. Thanks for your support God bless, Jessica
