Completely frustrated w/ MCCDNP
You can ask your instructors or program director about the LPN. I attend SCC, so not sure if they are the only ones or not.

Completely frustrated w/ MCCDNP
Block 2 of 08 will be the last LPN class offered. I am currently in that block. We signed a paper at the beginning of class to be able to take the NCLEX PN, but were notified that we will be the last class. I am pretty sure that it is all the community colleges.

Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list
Congrats to all of you have gotten in. Hoping that you who are waiting for tomorrow will have your dream come true. A little bit of info for you. Those students who do not pass block 1, have to get back in line (at the end) of the nursing students. They have to wait in that long line like you guys did. There were 10 in my class that did not make it, then there were those who decided to go to accelerated. So there may be more spots as mid December roll around. Block 2 finals are 16-17, so there may be room for more as a Christmas present.

Any one going to Rend Lake college or Kaskaskia
I currently in the nursing program in AZ. My parents live in McLeansboro. My class is the last class for LPN program. It will no longer be available. Just wondering if that is nation wide or just state. Is Illinois still doing the LPN program?

Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list
CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OF YOU WHO FINALLY MADE IT:yeah: Now, for a little info for those going into block 1. PLEASE STUDY HARD. If you do not pass block 1, you have to get back in line. I would hate for you guys to wait this long just to have to go back. Process is the hardest. If any of you have NCLEX books that is great and if you don't GET THEM. Process questions has 4 multiple choice, all of them could be and usually are right, you have to pick the best one. We started with 48 and we ended up with 37. It is not easy. They tell you at orientation, if you do not have to work DON'T. I don't want to bust anyone's bubble, but just a warning. Hope to see you at SCC.

Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list
I applied in Oct 06, got the acceptance letter in Oct of 07. When I applied, they told me that it would be a year wait. I had a lot more pre-req, and it is a shame that some of them are not needed now. I would still take them as you are waiting, like I mentioned Patho, make sure that you keep up on A&P (or is it not required).

Grrr - MCCDNP Wait list
I am currently a block II student at SCC. I like it. Just curious, how many are actually on the waiting list. We heard around 2000, is that correct? I signed up in Oct of 07 and start block I in Jan of 08. I was 846 when I signed up, but there were 1400 when I actually got in. Also, my advice to all of you guys is to take Patho while you are waiting. It is not a pre-req any more and a lot of people in my class did not have to take it. They wish they would have. It was a pre-req for me. Good luck to all of you guys

Immunizations
On the application, I don't think there is none needed. Once you get accepted then you have to make sure they are all up to date. Also, I found out that your TB, CPR, Td, and fingerprint card cannot expire during the first semester (Block 1). So keep that in mind. I waited a year to get in. Good luck.

Immunizations
I am not sure which application process you are talking about, but when I went through the CNA, I had to get my blood tested to see if I was still immune to certain things(MMR,Td,TB and so forth) I am also having to do the same thing with the nursing program, which I will start in January. There was a form that was attached to the application. I know the TB has to be done withing 6 months of starting the course. Good luck

spring 08 nursing program
Thanks for the congrats. I signed up in October of 06. At that time I was 846 on the list. When I was assigned to SCC, there was still 1377 on the list. I think the reason that the list is so long is that they don't require the pre-req's they did when I started. Now I have to go through them again.

spring 08 nursing program
I have been accepted in the nursing program at Scottsdale Community. Just wondering if any one is in that program or is on the list for that program? I was wondering what is expected. How is the program, what hospitals are involved, hours, and so forth. Any information about what I am getting myself into would be appreciated.

What to look forward to in the nursing program
I am told that it looks very good for me to get into the program in January. I am wondering if anyone out there can tell what I will get myself into. I was just wondering about the hours, days, missing days and so forth.

Humanities Req...what did you take?
I wanted to take a good one and I did. I took mine on movies. I took it a few years ago and not sure of what it was exactly called. It was fun. I just had my pick of movies and wrote a paper on them.

nervous about starting
I am also nervous about starting the program. I am told that I should be able to get in this January (AZ). I started taking courses when I was 40 and signed up last Oct. at 44. I had to go part time, because of family. I also had to take a lot more pre-req's than they do now. I will just have to refresh my memory when I go through some of the same things again. I also think that it will give me some advantage over the newer students. I am wondering if anyone knows of requirements for the program such as: days, hours, absent, and so forth.
