I see quite a few deliveries. Seems that the MD's with lots of experience attempt breech deliveries, while "newer" OB's don't try - they rarely use forceps. May be because of all the lawsuits, they don't get the experience in their training.

Why not just "RN"? I think it's silly when I see a slew of initials after someone's name. It make me think thjey are full of themselves. Tri RN, BSN, CRNA, MS, eieio

I find this type of behavior is very common with the indigent population. They don't pay for their care and make loud demands on everyone when they present. Being a minor and pregnant,she automatically qualifies for medicaid. It would be nice if they were greatful we are takning care of them for free and are polite to us.

I have never worked on a med surg floor and glad of it. Those nurses are generally over worked and under appreciated. Try for the OR, ER, PACU or L&D!!

We have nurses that are new and some that have been working in the OR for 30 years. It's easy to learn the ropes and it's very social. That along with working with different specialties shuld keep you fresh. There are problems there, like all units. You just have to learn to deal with them

What do you count as a case? Doing the case from start to finish? Is induction only a case? Is emergence only a case? Lunch break? Some classmates counted ANY participation asa case for them. This gives the false impression of # of cases. We don't check on # of cases when hiring. Only that they have passed boards and if not, they are eligible and have graduated from an accredited school in good standing. Don't sweat the #'s

Right, I have never paid more than 10K. There is also disabilty, health ins, medicare tax, CEU fees, and CRNA and nursing license fees to pay.
