  1. Thanks for responding. I'll see what will happen after my orientation and the test result. If next week i will not get at least 20 hrs. i'll start to find a 2nd job. God bless.
  2. Hello there, thanks for responding. mileage is .50 cents/miles. If no contact to pt., don't need to go the see pt. If pt. reject admission due to co-pay, they will still pay but i'm not sure if per visit or hourly pay depending of years of experience. The company will not send me to area that is two hours away from me. My worry is that i may not get 40 hrs of work because i'm only per diem. I will look for 2nd job just to make sure i have enough money to pay bills. I'll just have to wait for a full time position to open. TY again and i appreciate your concern. God bless.
  3. Hello to all, I'm new to homecare working as per diem visiting nurse from a hospital homecare in NJ. I really like the job but struggling so much to learn the computer. i'm feel so anxious because i have to pass the orientation. My 90 days orientaion will end this week and i have to pass their critical thinking exam to become a permanent PRN nurse in this company. I started with only 1-2 days of orientation per week with my preceptor cause i'm still working 3 days at the hosp. I feel so stupid when i'm with my preceptor because i'm forgeting what i've learn from last week. There's no con tinuity of learning on my part. Now i no longer work at the hospital(i hate working in this place anyway), i decide to work for 4 days this week with my wonderful preceptor. The mangement want me to take the exam on Monday and will have patients the following days. Hope to pass the test. The computer stuff is difficult. Another thing that worries me is that i'm afraid that i will not get enough hours to pay my bills cause census is low. Should i look for 2nd job or wait till there will be open full time position. Per visit $45 wkday, $50 wknd. I'm so worried. Please i need advise. What is the best thing to do now that my income went down totally. I have 18 months exp. in acute care hosp. I don't want hosp. anymore, I'm good with pts. and hate hosp. dramas. THANK YOU>
  4. thank you, thank you, nurseinlimbo. it seems like the training is so intense and you really have to deal with different personalities. it is scary but i still want to be an OR nurse. i'll try my best and i'll pray always to God to give me strength to survive my training. do you really want to be an OR nurse? i read your post and i feel bad on what had happened to you. please, stay. you work so hard on your training and i believe you are a good nurse. thanks again and good luck too. raingel
  5. Hi, tessa_RN. thank you so much. i will definitely show them that i am interested to work in the OR. although i had the opportunity to observed in the OR for 3 semesters, i still don't know what's life in the OR. now that you guys are giving me ideas on what the OR environment is, the more that i have to be prepared and be stong on what i will be encountering in the future. you gave me a lot of informations and i really appreciate it. the only problem is that i am shortie, only 5 ft. tall. if given a chance to scrub, i don't know if i could reach the table :chuckle. anyways, i'll cross the bridge when i get there. first i have to be accepted for OR nurse position. i'll let you know. thanks again. good luck too. raingel
  6. Lasoniamacaroni, thank you so much for your advise. i really want to be an OR nurse and will take all the challenges that i will be facing. i think i am the only student in our class that would like to be an OR nurse because they said it's boring and no patient interaction. i don't care what they say, i'll follow what my heart desire. Can you share with me what they asked you on you interview? i really have no idea and i want to be prepared for the interview. this week, i will fax my resume, transcript and 2 reference letters. i hope to be interviewed by the hospitals i've choosen. please, help. thanks again and i appreciate your kindness. raingel
  7. yeah, did you have a lot of priority qs? i think you passed. i study saunder seriously and got 75-91% on practice qs on cd. check your BON sometimes they're faster than pearson. good luck pray for you.
  8. hi, OR nurses. i found out his morning that i passed my nclex. i need your advise badly because i really want to be an OR nurse. some nurses say that i should have med-surg experience first before working at the OR. Please guide me. my first love is to work at the OR. give me some info on what is OR nurse does, the kind of team, on call, hours of work and pressure that you OR nurses experience. i would like to start looking for a job tomorrow with a position of OR nurse. when i was a student, i always requested to be at OR every semester and my clinical instructors were nice enough to put me there. please, please i need your help. i would greatly appreciate it. thanks in advance. God bless you all. marie
  9. good vibes on your way. priority qs are highest level of qs and that's what you should get. when did you take your test? usually 48 hrs and does your bon participate on quick results? relax and i know you pass already. keep us posted.
  10. i am so excited and feel weak because i think nclex took a lot of my energy:lol2: . thank you and you will passed. i always pray silently for everybody to pass. marie
  11. use saunders comp. review 3rd ed. and the cd. practice 100qs/day and do suzanne4 study guide. you will pass 100%. i did and just found out i passed with 75qs. good luck
  12. hi, i will tell you honestly what i did before taking the test. study saunders and do practice qs 100/day until you finish all the cd qs. this is suzanne4 study plan and it works 100% pass. the key is have the basic knowledge and read the rationales and you will know how to answer the nclex qs. i took my nclex last tues. and passed this morning. qs were similar to saunders but worded differently. you'll know how to rationalize and choose the right answer by using saunders. i got 75qs. hope i helped you enough. good luck.
  13. congrats. i passed too. learned about it just this morning although PA BON posted it in 24 hrs. i used suzanne4 plan.. saunders and i find the test similar to the nclex exam but worded differently.
  14. same here, congrats.
  15. [same here, congrats. quote=Hebrews 13:5]Me too! 75 questions! Passed.. Congrat!!
  16. congrats.
  17. [thanks so much, Eric quote=EricEnfermero]Good job! Congratulations!
  18. Hi everyone. i've been reading this post since march and i'm so happy that all of the menbers here were supporting each other. i read Amyd, hope to be a nurse, 20005grad, incredible06, nursingone, and alot of the members. congrats to all that passed and good luck to all that will be taking the nclex. i took mine last june 13 and just found out this 9am that i passed. this was my second try. i got 75 and 75qs again for the second. but i was'nt as nervous as i was the first time cause i am prepared this time. i used kaplan at first and i don't like it. i got tons of priority, 2 delegations, 3-4 selects, infection controls, obs, peds, no math, s/s diseases, 1 herb, nursing management, then the blue screen came out. before i start my exam i wrote on my white paper "relax, relax, God is on our side. he will help you". if i don't know the answer i look at the paper and pray to God and hoping that after i click the answer i would get another bold letters(essential, initially, immediately, best, most appropriate...etc.) or teachings. i am not good in select all that applies but i prayed every time i got those. and it helped. i went out feeling okay but nervous. i waited for 48 hours to look at PA BON cause they don't participate on quick result but i didn't know that they already gave me my licence # after 24 hrs. thanks a million to God and Suzanne4 study guide. follow her advise. you will surely pass!
  19. hi, suzanne4. take care and don't take too long, i will surely miss you. God bless and guide you always. raingel.
  20. brina, hello. i called PA BON and verify if a licence was issued although i already know i failed. i asked if there is a re-application form send out, the lady said yes. so i am right. i already accepted my failure since wednesday and i plan to buy saunders this weekend. next week, i will start studying harder. this time i will pass my nclex and will be an OR nurse this year. God will not let me down this time. i've been struggling with everything all my life. i know that there is light at the end of the tunnel. thanks again. i'll keep in touch. God bless you and take care. goodluck with your orientation. raingel
  21. Hi brina. first of all congratulation. thank you for your concern. i lose hope already and don't have any interest in checking my name on the website. i am the kind of person that wants to know the truth right away so i could go on with my life but unfortunately, in this situation i don't have control. another thing that made it hard for me was that i did not apply for temporary permit as a GN. there is no way to find out my result except just to wait for the mail everyday hoping that my agony will be over. i'd been taking sleeping pill everynight so i could sleep. if i already know the truth, i will stop taking this pills and start praying, study harder and relax. Suzanne4 told me not to do anything yet til i get the result. i will follow every advise i will recieve. i will definitely let u know when i get the result. again, thank you and good luck on your orientation. raingel
  22. hi, everyone. i'm feel so down lately after i took my nclex last march 1. until now i did not see my name on PA BON licensure verification. PA is not included on quick result. i think i failed. i had 75 questions and i felt 60% ok. i took the kaplan review with qbank and felt ready to take the board. unfortunately, the night before the board i cannot sleep and stay awake till morning. i took breakfast and redbull to keep me awake. i'm not a good test taker but i managed to finish nursing school without failing a semester. right now, i feel so stupid to choose the wrong answers. i still did not recieve anything from PA BON. i'm expecting a brown envelope so i would stop thinking about it and go on with my plan b. can you share your experience on waiting so long for your nclex result. i would really appreciate it. thanks guys. raingel
  23. i too took my nclex last march 1 and was so disappointed to learned that PA is not included on quick result. i did not find my name at thier website. i am positively that i failed the nclex with 75 questions. i still did not recieve brown envelope from them. i did kaplan review and was so excited to take the exam but unfortunately the night before the exam i did not sleep at all my brain does not want to stop thinking. anyway, we will pass next time. i plan to start to study with suzanne4 advice. we will be RN soon. mp;)
