  1. @808NurseAide Hi, did you ever hear back from the AD-RN program? Did you retake the TEAS?
  2. Oops thank you. Is there a way to message a contributor without posting on public forum?
  3. Congratulations! I definitely would love to connect with you. I think we are both non traditional students ? I completed by BA at UHM in 2007... and an AA from KCC in 2005... ? If you have a chance I'd love to connect before the first week of April when registration for classes
  4. Hi can we connect outside this forum? I will begin prerequisites this Summer session 1 & 2, and Fall and prep and take TEAS as well in the Fall. Would love to connect!
  5. Your TEAS score and GPA all sound on track to get in! Your work in health care can also gain you extra points. My understanding is that another alternate route to an AD-RN is to be a CNA then LPN then go into LPN-ADRN program.
  6. Aloha Kuulei, Mahalo for your response. I was off island on the continent since the 14th, now en route back. My apologies for the delayed response. I was initially intrigued by UHM GEPN but after comparing all the various programs on island and talking to nurses... I am no longer interested in it for similar reasons. I will begin to fulfill the prerequisites this Summer and take the TEAS sometime in the Fall before I apply for the AD-RN program at KCC. I am currently deciding how to structure the prerequisites. I would be most grateful to know your take since you have already completed both the prerequisites and TEAS. Would you be open to connecting outside of this public forum?
  7. Hi! Thanks for your response. I am skeptical of the GEPN at UHM... it seems scrutinized for being a money making avenue for the University... producing a graduate degree without bedside RN experience. Maybe a route for those in the science or public health sector wishing to pursue more administrative career ?
  8. Hi Kuulei, may I ask what your current work is in Healthcare? I went to KCC and UHM many moons ago. I graduated with an unrelated degree and so I am looking at the GEPN- MSN at UH Manoa. My plan is to apply this Fall to begin next Fall and if I don't get accepted ... I'll take more classes so that next year I'll apply to KCC ADN and reapply to UHM GEPN-MSN. KCC has more prerequisite classes for application!! Are you aware most job requirements now want BSN but my understanding is that you can work towards it while working as an RN. Some clinics/hospitals may even pay for tuition.
  9. Aloha , I'm opening up this forum for interested applicants to begin the program Fall 2026. Hoping we could use this platform as a way to send updates, ask questions about the applications, etc! Is anyone submitting for the first time? Or plan on re-submitting? ☺️
  10. Hi Charlie, I am very interested in hearing about your submitted application and experience prior to deciding to go into the accelerated MS nursing program. I just decided I want to apply to the program so my time line is this: volunteer now at the hospital for experience, take two prerequisite classes this Summer, apply, take the other four more prerequisites. If I get in, great, if I don't take more prerequisites and apply to RN program at KCC and reapply to MSN. Time is of the essence but I am willing work my but and bend over backwards to do whatever it takes to get into the program. Any advice you can offer and if you are open to sharing your application I am all ears.
