night shift
I went from days to night shift .As far as night shifters being a breed of their own I could say the same for days and PMs .I adjusted quickly and get along with my co-workers .I believe there's always one on each shift that may be harder to get along with then others. I stay out of the gossip and do my job, and I haven't really had any problems with personalities on any shift.

Kenosha Gateway?
Clinicals were okay I learned more working at a Kenosha Hospital as a SNI while finishing school than I did at school. I felt that the Theory classes aren’t the best but I made it through and passed boards the 1st time. I work with others that are at GTC and are very frustrated w/the program they’re intelligent people but feel like I did ,that GTC raises the standards all the time but doesn’t teach the students the tools or methods to meet the standards.

help... making mistakes
I believe it does get easier as time goes on. I love my job too, but have days where I left work and felt Incompetent, unorganized and questioning my choice of career, but I get over it and read up on things I'm not all that familiar with and ask questions. Hang in there.

Do your charge nurses have assignments?
In our CCU charge takes a full assignment , never open for admit, and often is responsible for making sure the unit is properly staffed ......calling staff at home if there is a shortage or to cancel if not needed . We also just started RRT and charge may have 1-pt and on RRT.

Critical Care training program...
I just passed NCLEX this week and have been precepting in the CCU for the past 8-months (16 bed CCU that does open hearts). I love Critical Care. I've had many patients that have had disorders that I've only read about .I've pulled chest tubes ,worked with IAPB ,Swan-Ganz lines, LOTS of drips ,Cardioversions,....and so much more .I love learning ,that's probably why I changed careers later in life ....(worked in an office for 10-years ...I love nursing and don't regret the lengthy journey it took to get there .It's my time to thank my friends and family for all of their support .I just hope I can survive 12-hour night shifts

Passed NCLEX
I live in Wisconsin .My understanding is that Wisconsin updates it's Board of Licensing website on Wednesdays ...I took my boards on Tuesday so I was able to see that I passed on my states website by Wednesday afternoon .I think paying PearsonVue is a rip off they get the results from the state ...at least in Wisconsin .

Passed NCLEX
I took my RN-NCLEX yesterday and found out today that I passed ! I am so happy that my state posted my results in less than 24hrs . I had 136 questions and my heart sank as soon as I realized the computer wasn't shutting off after #75 ,but kept on going doing my best not to lose focus .It's so true the # of questions doesn't apply 75-265 .

GL, I'm nervous......
