  1. I just got that nurses nurse feeling which I have never felt from management ? I always wondered if nurse management were even REAL NURSES. As staff we relied on each other unless we had someone trying to climb the ladder we didn't say much but if we were lucky enough to have a nurses nurse manager it was only for a short time. Nursing was a team but then it became a race of who knows more and belittling or she's lazy. We all have examples of oh that nurse is lazy then we learn she has a glio, AF, separated pubis bone from a car accident, nuero damage in her hands from a fall coming to work or cancer. The compassion for each other is missing and this is why other specialties don't respect us. I miss nursing care in an environment with people who enjoy working together.
  2. I needed to hear this I tried to return to the hospital not as a bedside but in another role, did not have a good orientation and the preceptor had been a nurse for 8 years, young nurse manager decided I was confrontational and did not progress quickly enough as per my 3 out of 4 preceptors said also she took me off orientation early because of staff shortage/call outs. I am now going to try another field with nurses my age over 50 it's a lot of paperwork but I am optimistic. I'm looking forward to retiring from this profession.
