  1. I just needed age waiver which is pretty common.
  2. Hi, I am Army National Guard Reserve. Full time active duty benefit is you basically have a full time job so you don't have to balance reserve commitment with your regular job. Full time you get more benefits but you also have more obligations. Reserve is good for people who just want a part time taste of military. I do like it for the most part. Alot of good people in my unit. One good thing about Reserve is you meet people from all walks of life. The process took about a year, they put together a packet for you and then a board reviews you. You also have to do a military physical, background check. For Reserve option there is Army Reserve or Army National Guard. There are benefits and drawbacks to each but they are very similar.
  3. I needed an age waiver, isn't really a problem for medical people.
  4. Not true at all, there are many many journals exclusively dedicated to nutrition, herbal medicine in addition to the conventional journals also having studies. It's obvious you have never researched it. NY you can practice as a Consultant. I know many that do. You can advertise just can't officially diagnose or prescribe drugs.
  5. Some good comments here except for the one calling naturopathy quackery. Just ignore those ignorant people. I'm an Naturopathc Dr and an RN. Each medicine has it's place but natural medicine is what will keep you heslthy and out of the hospital. ND field is growing and it is very rewarding clinically but challenging on the political and financial fronts.
  6. I'm not officially an Herbalist but am a Naturopathic Doctor who has done a lot of work with herbs and studied with Herbalists. I am looking into doing an herbalist program. I suggest looking at the schools under the American Herbalist Guild.
  7. Look into working with a busy Naturopathic Doctor. They would love to have a nurse with strong clinical skills and a strong interest in holistic medicine.
  8. There is so much evidence it is ridiculous. Do some research. There are many journals dedicated to focus on complimentary, naturopathic, botanical medicine, nutrition etc.
  9. This is right except that the BOLC at Sam Houston is only 3 weeks for nurses. You do a phase I BOLC online onbyour own prior to Sam Houston.
  10. It really seems to change constantly so I would apply anyway. I'm an RN in Army Nat Guard.
  11. Thanks for the info and advice. I'm in the Army Nat Guard. Do they give points for current military or just veterans?
  12. Hi, thanks for the response. I got relicensed as an EMT and I'm looking to do an RN to Paramedic program soon and then wil apply to Fire.
  13. You're right and nurses are leaving but they don't seem to care. I went per diem and only work on the weekend there to avoid the ridiculous management.
  14. We all fail at something. Use it as a learning experience. Failing and then coming back and trying again gives us grit. don't take it personally, just figure out what you didn't put enough time or energy into and come back and hit it hard when you are ready. When I fail at something, I come back and overkill it so it doesn't happen again. In other words go for the A not just the pass and most likely you will succeed.
  15. Florence believed in the healing power of nature, our natural ability to heal and used fresh air, nature, rest and compassion regardless of what technical things were done with patients, that has been removed from nursing. She was very holistic, almost like an honorary Naturopath.
