Kentucky Board KARE
The hospital could press criminal charges. Make sure to consult an attorney before speaking with PD or KBN.

Kentucky Board KARE
I avoided disciplinary action by entering into the KARE agreement. If you think that's a route you may pursue I would definitely get an attorney to represent you when you meet with KBN.

FSA usage for drug screening
That's great news! Now I'm trying to estimate my monthly cost but I believe my plan allows $500 to rollover if not used.

FSA usage for drug screening
Has anyone tried using a flexible spending account to pay for drug testing through affinity? I have a card through Optum and would like to use pre-tax dollars! Every little penny saved helps. Thanks

I guess it depends on your agreement with the board of nursing. The Kentucky Board of Nursing requires that all prescriptions and over-the-counter medications be signed off by your validated primary care provider. I have a list of prescriptions and I also have a list of over-the-counter medications including acetaminophen and Benadryl. I don’t think they test for Benadryl as a matter of course but they do have the ability to do so. It is easier to just get permission from your primary care provider for any over-the-counter medications on the front end. Then if you happen to take it and it shows up on the screen you were already covered and don’t have to worry about it.

fresenius dialysis and misdemeanor
I was offered a job with Fresenius and my background showed my recent misdemeanor of attempted theft of a legend drug. I have an interview tomorrow to discuss. I’m hoping they don’t rescind the offer.

Charges expunged
I had my felony charges pleaded down to a single misdemeanor. I have probation for 365 days and I can do a conditional discharge in two years. That means that 60 days after that conditional. That I can file for the charges to be expunged.

The caseworker you are assigned with the board of nursing should give you the link to create an account with Xfinity. You can download the app to your phone or use the website. I use it in Kentucky and check in daily. It lets me know when I have been selected to test. I have been tested twice in a month and not at all in a month. It is very random. This is because I am a participant in the KARE Program.

Diverted Fentanyl, DEA involved- has anyone ever been through this?
I self reported to the BON and HR told me they were reporting and the person I stole the drugs from filed a police report. They have me on video taking it because I am a terrible criminal. We go to the arraignment and will get the charges pleaded down to misdemeanors hopefully since I am already doing my drug rehabilitation treatment. Also the BON is more lenient with you if you are proactive. The only letter I have received from the board so far is the order of evaluation. They take their sweet time getting to you so I am not surprised. I know that I will eventually be okay and the charges will be dismissed as long as I am complaint with the court and board of nursing monitoring.

I am in Kentucky and my dumb *** did it in full color video. I am a terrible criminal but just shows how addiction deadens your prefrontal cortex and you make stupid decisions.

I have self reported to KBN and received my order for psychiatric evaluation. I had already enrolled in IOP for chemical dependency so they were going to take my evaluation from the hospital where I am doing group. I haven't heard another peep from them since December 10, 2021. I have emailed but no response. I have already started keeping track of my meeting attendance so I can take it with me when I do finally meet with them. Have you been in contact with them? Also I am looking for a job after I finish IOP which doesn't require a nursing license but with pending criminal I am thinking this may take some divine intervention! I have been clean and sober since 11/29/21.

I didn't divert but stole a coworker's legend drug which is a state felony. My attorney advised me to immediately get enrolled in a chemical dependency program. Fortunately I received a criminal summons instead of being arrested and go to court next month. He says we may be able to plead down the felony or divert to drug court. Also I self reported to the BON and await a response from them regarding a monitoring program. The facility has to report this incident and my attorney said it is better to self report and enter voluntarily. The most important part is to resolve that drug addiction has placed you in a position where you are jeopardizing your career and getting the help you need. I wish you nothing but the best.
