  1. I agree. I was working when the patient and family were still in the hospital and were upset and making the complaint. Administration person (accused) says there is no problem because they have the right to know everything about all patients (even though this person is not involved with patient care). This person was called by another nurse on the unit to tell about said patient and personal information they have in common. Hospital admin sees no wrong doing. Our culture has turned into fear of retaliation. I believe in being a patient advocate.
  2. Has anyone ever reported a HIPAA violation to HHS or the BON? A co-worker had a patient report of a violation from 2 nurses and the pt's nurse submitted a hospital "ticket" of the problem (one nurse even admitted on the unit she did it). The issue has been swept under the rug and covered up by the hospital. Having better morals and ethics I don't feel it should disappear. Has anyone made a report and if so, how did it go?
  3. I emailed before I applied asking if religious or medical exemptions would apply and was told that it would depend on the location of clinical. I am also hoping to be able to do clinical at the hospital where I work. I’m willing to do the foot work to get me approved ?
  4. I want to get stuff done early too rather than wait. I am game for a FB group. I don’t use my real name but I’m happy to introduce myself ?Another friend that applied said her co-worker asked if acceptance emails were still being sent today and she was told yes. I imagine they are waiting for the intent form cut off to send out more info so everything is on the same page.
  5. I’m sorry, I remember reading it with other info. I was thinking it was hidden in there. I’m glad you did find it.
  6. I read someone else’s post that said there should be an orientation but I haven’t found that anywhere. I would think there may be but I can’t find a direction or scheduled things anywhere.
  7. It’s in the “competitive packet” listed under the program’s info. It’s part of the list of things needed to apply and qualify and steps of being accepted.
  8. I do hope that is true too! Thank you for the positivity and support. ?
  9. I’m glad I’m not the only one super excited and scared too ?We are going to do this! Anybody know past students of the program? I’m just wondering how the beginning starts and how soon clinicals are. It seems like reading the packet for this year some things are different from last year.
  10. Hello to those who started the program in the past, how did the beginning of your program go? To get an idea, did you have class right away or start the online portion first and how soon did you start clinical? Thank you!
  11. Congratulations! I got an email too and was accepted! How exciting!
  12. I’m sorry ?Keep doing what you’re doing. I know it’s discouraging but hard work pays off. We keep trying until we reach our goals!
  13. Oh the plot thickens! Let me know if you get a response. May I ask how many points you have? I have 24. Thank you so much!
  14. I got an email this morning that I’m an alternate. ?not sure what number though. It said they accepted applicants with 25 points
