I know this was an old post but wondering if you were able to make that transition? and how did you get thru the interview with your nicu experience?

Hi! so im trying to switch to the emergency department but I only have nicu experience. I've been trying to look for new to specialty programs but there aren't any near me. But some ED jobs I've seen says that I can apply but I need either 6 months ED experience or ICU experience. Does NICU count as ICU experience? Not to belittle my specialty but Im trying to go to adults emergency so I'm kinda borderline to apply or not.

Has anyone here work in the NICU for this hospital? If so, how is it? I applied for a per diem job and wanted to see how it is. I haven't had an interview yet but my application is under consideration so fingers crossed.

LOL that’s so soon. But yea I feel like the mark klimeck audio really helped me. Especially the prioritization ones. And then I skimmed the Saunders book which gave me some good tips for some questions I got on the NCLEX. But tbh if you did well in nursing school you’re good. Nothing new. Just make sure to take your time and answer what the question ask and don’t assume anything.

Did u get an offer there? And yea they like it! They said it’s challenging of course but the preceptors are nice. Changing units every 2 weeks and get to change to days/nights every 3 months whatever u prefer.

Yea considering my other options too. LB was the best. And my friends said they have never met the director since they began working there so that’s a good thing haha

Yea they’re not good at updating the app status. It sucks to keep waiting for something that’s not gonna happen

I believe they gave out all their offers already so that’s probably why HR hasn’t gotten back to you

Update I got the job. But debating if imma take it because of how the interview went

Theyre still conducting interviews right now so I don't think they're doing second interviews just yet. on the otherhand the email they sent us for the interview didn't mention there was a second interview tho. It said results will be known two weeks after the last interview. But don't quote me on that.

People are getting interviews. I had mine last week and I have to say the director of float was pretty rude. She rolled her eyes at me a lot and gave me no time to answer. My interview was less than 5 mins when it’s supposed to be 30 mins.

Probably reach out since this Friday is the last day of interviews. I tried doing that with the person I had my first interview with but all she said was she’s not apart of the next process so I should just wait and see. Hopefully you’ll have better luck.

ED and ICU I think? Same. Update us if you get anything

Of course still hoping for the best haha. But actually my friend who’s not internal and from Northern California got to interview like 2 weeks ago already.

Nope same boat as you. Even with the facebook comment saying they are still interviewing I feel like if it’s been this long not getting an interview while others got it a couple of weeks before do we even have a good chance of getting an offer?

I read on facebook that someone called HR and they said they’re conducting interviews for one more week and then deciding after that.

I had an interview with (MODERATOR EDIT OF NAME) the director. I thought it went well but I guess there’s a lot of people who got second interviews already and I didn’t get one. I put ICU as my first choice but they probably didn’t care cause there’s only 20 spots available.

Oh that’s super weird. My interview didn’t let me type of answers. But thanks for answering my questions. And good luck!
