  1. Congratulations! And yess I agree there is still hope! I also wanted to point out that I am waitlisted AL-44 at UBC for the Fall 2021 intake which is pretty far down. I got ranked in the top 25% for my supplemental application and casper test but my grades were ranked in the top 75%. I think BCIT definitely valued the fact that my degree was pretty much complete but it's crazy how differently both places viewed/ranked my applications.
  2. No problem, I hope it helps someone else! and the email just said to check "my communications."
  3. Thank you! and 4:51 PM
  4. Hi everyone, I just got accepted! I applied with a 3.06 GPA, degree basically done (finished May 2021), experience: co-op at BCCH, work as a BI in a preschool for kids with autism, volunteering in a SFU research lab, and volunteer at the hospital gift shop, and retail experience. Good luck to everyone else!
  5. I emailed UBC Nursing and they said this: For more information on how to submit your final official transcript, please refer to UBC website as your official documents must be delivered/submitted to UBC Enrolment Services. I am an SFU student (SFU will directly email the transcript to UBC) and waitlisted so maybe that's why they told me to refer to the website rather than send it to the email. But I am not sure...
  6. Me too! It's so stressful.
  7. Has anyone's application status changed from "Pending Department Review?"
  8. Hi! I'm waitlisted number 44, my CASPer and supplemental were ranked 1 but grades were a 3. For CASPer, I bought the BeMo casper test prep book which was really helpful for formatting the answers, and then I watched a lot of the multiple mini interviews videos on Youtube. There were also videos of med students, etc. explaining how to answer those types of questions. For my supplemental, I mentioned I will be done my BSc in Behavioural Neuroscience this semester. I talked about my experience as a research assistant at BCCH (I was in contact with patients, shadowed nurses, and communicated with surgeons and other departments). I work as a BI in a preschool program for kids with autism and have 1.5 years of retail experience. Volunteering with a research lab at SFU, hospital gift shop, and an afterschool program for kids. It really sucks that my grades were what got me waitlisted. I thought my GPA was pretty decent, but I think my classes were considered "easy," because they were a lot of Psyc and electives. I hope you get into other schools you applied to! This is super stressful.
  9. Hi! I was just wondering if anyone knows if BCIT had more applications than usual like UBC did? (I heard UBC had about 860).
  10. .
  11. damn im waitlisted number 44 ? I got 3 on my grades but 1 on Casper and supplemental
  12. is it possible they will continue to send more out today?
  13. Mine hasn't updated ?
  14. I started off volunteering at the hospital Gift Shop and with Big Brothers Big Sisters and kind of built off of that. It's definitely hard getting healthcare experience but don't get discouraged! It's good that BCIT is very open with the types of experiences they consider important as well.
  15. Heyyyy, that's my major as well at SFU! It's my last semester right now. I did do a 1-year co-op at BC Children's Hospital as a Research Assistant so I am really hoping that helps. Good luck!
  16. The UBC SSC website right? Have you tried a different internet browser? My UBC one is okay but BCIT never works for me on chrome so I have to use safari. Hope that helps!
  17. Thank you!
  18. For the course codes for the Human Anatomy and Physiology credits under the "Prerequisite Courses Checklist," do I just enter the course number? (For example, BPK 205 and BPK 326 from SFU) Or is the code something else?
  19. I didn't specifically ask about the list of citations at the end ... I asked "as an example can I just write (CBC News, 2018)" and the advisor said yes to doing that and that they aren't strict about the type of format. I only used in-text citations in mine.
  20. Yes, I did. I talked to UBC BSN advising and they said that they would like you to indicate where you got the information from but they aren't super strict about APA, MLA, etc formatting.
  21. Thank you! And yes CASPer is done! It was definitely an interesting test. Ahahah I'm glad I am not the only one having trouble with that section. Hopefully we can figure it out asap!
  22. I
  23. Hi everyone! I am in the process of applying as well! I am definitely worried about my application after reading the previous posts and seeing that some people didn't get in despite amazing applications. If I calculated correctly based on UBCs GPA calculator my GPA is in the low 80% area. I have tons of experience with kids and about 2 years of retail experience. In terms of hospital-specific experience, I volunteered in the hospital gift shop for 3 years and I had a paid research assistant position at BCCH for a year so I was in contact with patients, surgeons, nurses, etc. every day (I even got to watch surgeries!!). Right now I work as a behaviour interventionist so I really hope that helps. I am also in the last semester of my BSc in Behavioural Neuroscience from SFU. I am honestly kind of lost about what to write for the "Additional Learning and Accomplishments" section so any guidance would really be appreciated!
